Van Phuc Commune (Thanh Tri District) is a shining example in building a model new rural area. With united efforts, the officials and residents of Hamlet 1 have achieved many proud accomplishments in building cultural life, creating noticeable changes in the landscape and people’s lives. By the end of 2024, 96.5% of households in the hamlet had earned the title of Cultural Family. The hamlet has consecutively maintained the title of “Cultural Village” for 10 years.

Hamlet 1, Van Phuc Commune, has 791 households with 4,120 residents. The hamlet has a Party cell with 116 members. Most residents work in agriculture, while in recent years some have developed trade, services, and industrial production. The average income per capita in the hamlet reaches VND 78.6 million per year; the material and spiritual life of the people has increasingly improved, with the proportion of fairly well-off and wealthy households rising to 52%. There are no poor households remaining.

Over the past year, Hamlet 1 effectively promoted and encouraged residents of all classes to participate in the movement “All People Unite to Build New Rural Areas and Civilized Urban Areas,” the national target program for new rural construction, and the project to develop Thanh Tri District into an urban area and Van Phuc Commune into a ward. Residents were also encouraged to apply science and technology, build many farm-based economic models, and increase production value per hectare, contributing to raising household income to VND 78.6 million /person/year; the proportion of fairly well-off and wealthy households rose to 52%, and no households were left in poverty.

With a relatively affluent life, residents of Hamlet 1 also exemplify civilized lifestyle practices in weddings, funerals, and festivals. All weddings in the hamlet are conducted simply and in accordance with regulations. In 2024, 96.5% of households earned the title of “Cultural Family,” and the hamlet maintained the “Cultural Village” title for 10 consecutive years.

Additionally, residents actively participate in humanitarian and charitable activities, as well as gratitude campaigns. In 2024, they contributed VND 110 million to various funds, reaching 135% of the plan; gave 130 gifts to families in difficult circumstances during Lunar New Year; and 800 gifts to children during the Mid-Autumn Festival and families affected by Storm No. 3, orphaned children, etc., valued at VND 250 million. The proportion of residents participating in health insurance reached 95.5%.

In 2024, residents successfully socialized 385 million VND to renovate the Dam Well, install 20 sets of stone benches, and plant 100 trees and flowers around the well, creating a “Bright – Green – Clean – Beautiful” environment.

The movement “All People Participate in Maintaining Public Order” continued effectively. The hamlet established a self-managed public security team; maintained the inter-family firefighting team and the neighborhood firefighting team; and encouraged 95% of residents to install digital IDs and the iHanoi app. Conflicts were resolved locally, minimizing escalated complaints.
