“Thang Long – Hanoi Festival 2025” will be held from October 31, 2025 to November 9, 2025. The Opening Ceremony will take place at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel and the Closing Ceremony at Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square.
The main stage will be located at Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square; a secondary stage at the area of Den Ba Kieu Flower Garden along with performance and showcasing activities on Ho Hoan Kiem pedestrian streets; Hanoi Museum; the Center for Cultural and Scientific Activities Temple of Literature.
Recently, Vice Chairwoman of the City People’s Committee Vu Thu Ha signed and issued Plan No. 268/KH-UBND dated September 30, 2025, adjusting and supplementing several tasks under Plan No. 157/KH-UBND dated June 6, 2025 of Hanoi City People’s Committee regarding the organization of “Thang Long – Hanoi Festival 2025”.
Accordingly, the city will suspend the organization of 02 programs: Hong River International Music Festival 2025 and “Masquerade Festival – Heritage Connection”.
Adjustments will be made to the following activities, including: (1) The program “Memory of the Lotus Season – Art and Zen in Heritage”, scheduled for November 7 – 8, 2025 at Hanoi Museum, adjusted to: the art program “Eternal Moment”, scheduled for November 8, 2025 at Hanoi Museum; (2) The program “Hanoi Open Puppetry Festival”, scheduled for November 8, 2025 at Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square, adjusted to: “Hanoi Open Puppetry Festival”, scheduled for November 8, 2025 at the area of Den Ba Kieu Flower Garden.
Additional activities will be included in the “Heritage Convergence” program held at Temple of Literature: Music performances by traditional and contemporary art groups at the Inner Sanctuary; Exhibition space showcasing traditional craft village products of the three ancient capitals (Thang Long, Hue, Hoa Lu) & provinces of the Central Highlands; Introduction of Hanoi Cuisine – Flavors of Hanoi, and hands-on experience with handicrafts – creative design at Ho Van.

Fifteen additional performances of cultural heritage from wards and communes will be included, such as: Ba Bong Dance – Phu Xuyen Commune, Bong Dance – Thanh Liet Ward, Bat Xa Loa Thanh Palanquin Procession – Dong Anh Commune…
New activities to be organized include: Opening of the art exhibition “Hanoi thanh tan”; the art program “Hanoi oi”; Opening of the educational exhibition “Heritage and the Future” at Temple of Literature; Water puppetry performances by puppetry wards at Vuon Giam, Temple of Literature; Activities commemorating the 10th anniversary of Tug-of-War Ritual and Game being inscribed by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage.
The City People’s Committee requests that the organization of “Thang Long – Hanoi Festival 2025” be implemented under the two-level local government model, ensuring compactness, efficiency, effectiveness, and performance.
