It is the 2nd time the contest has been organized. After more than a month, the Organizing Committee has received nearly 60,000 exam papers made by pupils from 227 state owned as well as private schools and internation ones in Haf Noi.
The children have expressed their creativenesses and keenesses for books by various formats in essay, video or drawings as well. The exams are not only made in the Vietnamese language, but there is also some groups taking the exams and being interviewed in English.
The contest in search of the Capital’ Ambassador of Reading Culture 2017-2018 school year has been co-organized by Ha Noi Department of Training and Education, Ha Noi Department of Information and Communications, Ha Noi Department of Culture and Sports and Viet Nam Intellectual Cooperation Centre (VICC). This is the 2nd year the contest is held with a view to raise book reading loves and encouraging the sharing and dissemination of the reading culture among children of primary and secondary schools in the entire area of Ha Noi.
Judging the quality of the exams compared to the previous year, according to the Organizing Committee, in general its quality is more equal in terms of both formats done on paper as well as video presentation.
Surpassing almost 60,000 exam submissions, 28 candidates who have been most successful in writing and presentation in Vietnames and English will be awarded the title of the Capital’s Ambassador for Reading Culture 2017-2018 school year , including 04 “Representative Ambassador of Reading Culture” and 24 “Ambassador of Reading Culture 2017 – 2018”. In addition, there are 18 individuals winning consolation prizes; 05 schools having quality exams and many reading encouragment activists.
The Ambassador of Reading Culture will be glorified at the 2nd wrap-up and prize-awarding ceremony at Books Street 19 December, Hoan Kiem district, Ha Noi on the morning of 26 May, 2018.
Coupled with the Ambassador of Reading Culture group 2017, this year’s Ambassadors will have a chance to participate in many activities and put forth more initiatives so as to pass their love for books onto other school mates, and not only in Ha Noi but also in the whole country.
