In 2026, the Hanoi Association of Literature and Arts strives to produce more literary and artistic works with high ideological and artistic value, rich in national identity, and featuring the distinctive character of Thang Long – Hanoi, serving the cultural industry, meeting the people’s demands, and contributing to building a stronger and more civilized capital.
On December 31, in Hanoi, the Hanoi Association of Literature and Arts summarized its literary and artistic activities in 2025 and set directions and tasks for 2026.

Regarding activities in 2025, People’s Artist Tran Quoc Chiem, President of the Hanoi Association of Literature and Arts, emphasized that the Association successfully advised on and organized literary and artistic activities serving the city’s political tasks, annual literary and artistic activities, and projects commissioned by the city. It maximized the creative potential of artists, producing literary and artistic works with ideological, aesthetic, and educational value, contributing to promoting the cultural, economic, and political development of the capital and the country.
In particular, 2025 witnessed many major events commemorating significant holidays of the capital and the country. The Union and its specialized associations successfully organized numerous literary and artistic activities with active and high-quality participation of members, creating a strong impact in social life. Notable examples include conferences and seminars such as “Hanoi Literature and Arts 50 Years After National Reunification,” “Hanoi Literature and Arts 80 Years Alongside the Nation,” “Hanoi Literature and Arts in the Application of Digital Transformation Today,” the introduction of literary and artistic works in the fields of theater and cinema, the organization and guidance of the 55th Art Photography Contest and Exhibition themed “Proud of Hanoi – The Beauty of the Nation,” the 2025 Hanoi Fine Arts Exhibition, the 2025 program on Preserving and Promoting Traditional Thang Long – Hanoi Dance, the 18th “Love Hanoi” program themed “Hanoi Streets,” the compilation and publication of the book Beautiful Flowers of Hanoi 2025, dozens of professional conferences and seminars, and dozens of field trips for creative work…
People’s Artist Tran Quoc Chiem stated that in 2026, the Hanoi Association of Literature and Arts will continue to develop Hanoi’s literature and arts that are advanced, rich in national identity, and imbued with Thang Long – Hanoi culture; striving to produce many literary and artistic works with high ideological and artistic value, promptly serving the political tasks of the capital and the country, enriching and fostering the people’s spiritual life, promoting the cultural industry, and effectively serving the cause of building a stronger and more civilized capital.
In parallel, the Association will strengthen communication to raise social awareness of the position and role of literature and arts in the construction and protection of the country; focus on human resource training, building and developing a comprehensive team of artists in terms of quantity, quality, diversity of art forms, and generational continuity; apply digital technology in literature and arts; and mobilize diverse resources for literary and artistic development.

Based on preserving and promoting the nation’s literary and artistic values, the Association will continue to strengthen regional and international integration in literature and arts, selectively absorb the humanistic, scientific, and progressive values of other countries, while promoting the image, culture, and people of Thang Long – Hanoi with a thousand years of civilization to international friends; proactively combating and preventing limitations and negative influences in the field of literature and arts.
The specific tasks set by the Association for 2026 include organizing congresses of specialized associations and the Union congress, holding Hanoi Poetry Day 2026 at the Temple of Literature – Quoc Tu Giam, organizing the Hanoi Literature and Arts Awards and activities commemorating the 60th anniversary of the Hanoi Association of Literature and Arts (October 10, 1966 – October 10, 2026), organizing creative campaigns, exhibitions, and music and dance programs celebrating the capital’s and the nation’s anniversaries…
At the conference, Hoang Quoc Viet, Head of the Literature and Arts Division, Hanoi Party Committee’s Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, acknowledged and praised the achievements of the Hanoi Association of Literature and Arts in 2025, while emphasizing the key tasks for 2026 that the Association needs to focus on.
According to Comrade Hoang Quoc Viet, in 2026, based on institutional frameworks, orientations, and development strategies of the capital, the Hanoi Association of Literature and Arts will strive to keep pace with the movement of Hanoi and the country, with specific plans to promote the Association’s role and attract a large number of artists to participate and contribute. The Association also needs to develop a digital transformation project in the field of literature and arts. Other ongoing projects should continue effectively and with depth; interdisciplinary activities should be strengthened, creating breakthroughs in operations and producing high-quality literary and artistic works.
