The “Dien Pho” art exhibition and book publication, organized by Hanoi Publishing House, commemorates the 70th anniversary of the Capital’s Liberation Day (October 10, 1954 – October 10, 2024). The exhibition presents to a wide audience vivid images, documents, and memories of Hanoi’s developmental journey since the advent of electricity. The carefully reconstructed images, documents, and models authentically capture the capital’s rhythm of life through stories of people, professions, and especially the dedicated electrical workers tirelessly laboring and contributing to creating an increasingly bright, green, clean, civilized, and modern Hanoi.

The “Dien Pho” publication
The “Dien Pho” publication features over 20 articles offering genuine, intimate, and profoundly impressive perspectives on the journey of electricity. Simultaneously, it chronicles more than a century of the capital and country’s transformative yet heroic experiences. More subtly and quietly, but deeply evocative, the book explores the monumental changes in human life and the collective consciousness of the capital’s residents, where past anxieties about electricity shortages now exist only as nostalgic memories.

Delegates view book pages at the exhibition opening ceremony.
Spanning over 200 pages, the book guides readers to visualize and experience the distinctive path of Electricity and Urban Life, capturing both “existing values and invisible emotional elements.” Readers will gain a clearer understanding of urban development, infrastructure evolution, and Hanoi’s progressive journey as the “heroic capital” and “City of Peace”.
The exhibition will run through December 22, 2024.
