On the evening of August 15, 2025, the special art program “Hanoi – From the Historic Autumn of 1945” will take place at Cach Mang Thang Tam Square. This event is part of a series of activities organized by the city of Hanoi to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the success of the Cach Mang Thang Tam (August 19, 1945 – August 19, 2025) and National Day on September 2.

The program is directed in terms of content by the Hanoi Party Committee – People’s Council – People’s Committee – Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi, organized by the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, and performed by Thang Long Theater of Music, Song and Dance.
“Hanoi – From the Historic Autumn of 1945” is a highly ideological art program meticulously staged, combining multiple art forms, from music and dance to dramatized scenes, documentary projections, and 3D mapping integrated with modern sound and lighting effects.
The program is structured into three chapters: Chapter 1 – Hanoi in the Historic Autumns; Chapter 2 – The Epic of the Ho Chi Minh Era; Chapter 3 – The Spring Trains. With numerous outstanding artistic performances blending traditional and modern elements, the program will take the audience through the major milestones of Hanoi over the 80-year journey since the success of the Cach Mang Thang Tam. This journey begins with the historic autumn of 1945, when President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence establishing the Democratic Republic of Vietnam at Ba Dinh Square, continues through the harsh years of war when Hanoi not only served as a strong rear but also remained resilient and indomitable, marked by the resounding “Hanoi – Dien Bien Phu in the Air,” contributing to the liberation of the South and the reunification of the country. Today’s Hanoi stands proudly as the capital – the heart of the nation, growing strongly in the new era of the Vietnamese people. In addition to music and performances, a highlight of the program is the 3D mapping projections combined with artistic fireworks, creating an impressive and unique light journey.
The program “Hanoi – From the Historic Autumn of 1945” is artistically directed by People’s Artist Tan Minh, with musician Duong Cam serving as music director, conductor Dong Quang Vinh leading the orchestra, and Master Tuyet Minh writing the script and serving as chief director. The program features nearly 1,000 artists and performers from various art units in Hanoi and central agencies based in the city. Among them are familiar names such as People’s Artists Hoang Anh Tu, Tan Minh, artist Xuan Hinh, Meritorious Artists Dang Duong, Tran Lin, singers Hoang Hai, Van Mai Huong, Lam Bao Ngoc, Dong Hung, Khanh Linh, Trong Hung, and the group Oplus.
The program “Hanoi – From the Historic Autumn of 1945” will be broadcast live on VTV1 – Vietnam Television and simulcast on H1 – Hanoi Radio and Television at 20:10 on August 15, 2025.
