According to local folklore, the sixth day of the eleventh lunar month marks the day of Saint Tan Vien Son’s passing – the leading deity among the Four Immortals in Vietnamese folk beliefs – leaving behind a monumental legacy deeply etched in the national consciousness. The incense offering ceremony provides an opportunity for locals and visitors from far and wide to express profound reverence and honor the remarkable achievements of Saint Tan Vien Son, a divine figure symbolizing human strength, compassion, and the indomitable will to conquer nature. Simultaneously, the event serves as a critical platform to showcase the rich cultural and historical significance of the Trung Temple historical site, one of the most renowned spiritual landmarks nestled in the Ba Vi mountain range.
Speaking at the ceremony, Nguyen Duc Anh, Deputy Chairman of the District People’s Committee, underscored the critical importance of preserving and elevating cultural and historical heritage. The bronze bell casting at Trung Temple not only demonstrates deep respect for Saint Tan Vien but also significantly enhances the spiritual value of the historical site, creating a distinctive focal point in the district’s cultural tourism promotion strategy.

Within the framework of the event, Ba Vi District orchestrated a solemn bronze bell casting ceremony directly at the Trung Temple historic site. The bell, crafted from pure red copper, weighs an impressive 986 kilograms, stands 2.15 meters tall, and features a mouth diameter of 108 centimeters. Intricately adorned with elegant Chinese characters and exquisitely detailed four-dragon motifs, the bell’s body radiates a sense of solemnity and profound spiritual significance. More than a sacred symbol, the bell serves as a metaphorical bridge connecting past and present, channeling heartfelt prayers for peace and prosperity for the people and the nation.
