The festival takes place on the occasion of the National Day March 03, 2018 of the Republic of Bulgaria and the 68th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Bulgaria. It is the a long-standing traditional fesstival of Bulgaria – famous for the cultivation of roses and rose products.
Accordingly, the Bulgarian Embassy collaborated with the Genetics Institute under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to import more than 1,000 Bulgarian rose trees with more than 100 different types of roses. Currently they are being taken care of by the Institute and expected to flower timely in the festival so that visitors can enjoy.
To avoid the restrictions last year when the number of roses has not met the public’s expectation, this year, the festival’s organization board invites the large rose garden owners in the north to participate such as those from Xuan Quan – Hung Yen flower village, Ho Tay Flowr Valley, Thang Long Bonsai Association…
In the festival, the show of Vietnamese Ao Dai and Bulgarian ethnic fashion take place
According to the organization Board, In addition to the roses from Bulgaria, the festival displays Vietnamese roses with over ten years of age, imported and bonsai roses, and roses with over 200 years of age. The difference in this year’s festivals is that the rose trees are displayed by the landscape designers into the work of art in romantic contemporary European style such as “Spring Rose Road”, “Rose – Love House”, “European Forest”.

During the Festival, there are many outstanding artistic activities such as selecting the queen of roses; Vietnamese Ao Dai, Bulgarian ethnic fashion; Introducing Bulgarian street food & international friends; music festival by the bands from Bulgaria and Vietnamese performers; Street parade activities, tossing of rose by Queen of Rose and Kid of Rose… The opening ceremony takes place at 9:00 am on March 08, 2018.
