For the effectiveness of the mass sports movement, for many years, Cau Giay District has paid attention to investing in facilities for this activity. In 2019, grassroots cultural and sports institutions were concerned, such as construction of playgrounds and gymnasiums in wards with the total investment of nearly VND 2.5 billion, investment in basketball courts and football for physical education in schools with the investment of nearly VND 1.5 billion. Currently, there are 82 playgrounds, sports courts in the district, 8/8 wards with Culture – Sports Centers and community play areas, 5/8 wards with football fields and 6 schools with swimming pools. Schools all have gymnasiums, sports areas and training yards that meet the standards and are operated and used effectively.

There are synchronous facilities together with the awareness among people of all classes about the great effect of physical training and exercise on cultural, spiritual and physical life, so the mass sports movement in the Cau Giay district is increasingly extensive. Not only developing in the elderly class, but sports and physical movement also spread to the youth and adolescents in the area. Although they are busy, many Cau Giay people have arranged time, chose the appropriate sport subjects such as walking, badminton, table tennis, soccer, nourishment, running … for daily practice. At the end of 2019, the percentage of people who practise sports regularly reached 40.5%, the rate of families with regular sports practice reached 32%, the rate of policemen and soldiers practising sports regularly reached 99, 5%.

Besides, grassroots sports clubs (clubs) are constantly growing in number, and quality of activities are improved. Currently, Cau Giay district has 43 grassroots sports clubs under the management of wards, enclosed with decisions on establishment and operation regulations, attracting a large number of people to participate in regular practice, typically, football club, Volleyball club, table tennis club, etc. These clubs are not only meeting points for physical activities but also have a practical effect in strengthening the spirit of solidarity, cohesion, mutual support in the life of all classes in the area.
The highlight of the mass sports movement in Cau Giay District is the maintenance of summer sports clubs for children and the successful organization of tournaments that have become the “brand” of the district such as Mini Football Tournament, Day culture and sports festival of all branches, Health Association and so on. Among them, Mini Football Tournament is an annual tournament held by Cau Giay District during the past 23 years, attracting the support of teams from 8 wards, agencies, units and schools in the area. This is a useful playground, contributing to promoting the physical training movement following the example of the great Uncle Ho and strengthening the health of officials, workers and employees, armed forces, students and students. The area and at the same time is an opportunity for agencies, units and schools in the district to exchange and learn experiences in organizing and competing sports. In 2019, the district instructed 8/8 wards and schools in the area to organize grassroots tournaments, making the mass sports movement more exciting, attracting people of all classes to participate. In addition, Cau Giay District is also an effective organizer of swimming and drowning prevention classes for children every summer, thereby, contributing to improving the necessary skills for their safety in the water environment, contributing to limit the unfortunate consequences that may occur.
