The national chess championship for the TPBank Cup 2020 competition took place from June 5 to 15, in Bac Giang. Notably, the outstanding players of this tournament will have the privilege of participating in the 2021 National Chess Championship.
Hanoi will compete at the National Chess Team Championship 2020.
The tournament has about 300 athletes as the best players of the provinces, cities and industries with developed chess movements such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Kien Giang, Da Nang, Thua Thien – Hue, Quang Ninh, Nghe An, Binh Dinh, Ben Tre, Lam Dong, Bac Giang, Bac Ninh, Hai Phong, Ninh Thuan, Dong Thap, Binh Duong and the Army… These athletes will participate in the Chess Team National Championship 2020.
In the tournament, the athletes will compete in four events, including standard chest, fast chess, flash chess and mixed doubles. This is not only the tournament that discovers and selects more elite players to supplement the national team, but also the arena to directly win tickets to the National Chess Championship 2021. Therefore, The 2020 national chess team championship is expected to be highly competitive.
Male and female players ranked from 1-32 will win direct ticket to the National Chess Championship 2021. In case of absence of qualified players, the organizers will add the next ranked players. Chess players are ranked at higher level according to the current standards of national chess ranking.
