The final match of the 3rd Me Linh District Hai Ba Trung Cup Football Tournament 2024 was a fierce competition between the Me Linh Commune football team and the Chi Dong Town football team. Having successfully advanced through the qualifying rounds, both teams entered the final with high spirits and determination, especially the Chi Dong Town team, who were the reigning champions of both the 2023 and 2024 seasons and were strong contenders for the top spot.
In the first half of the final, despite an exhilarating performance, neither team managed to score. In the second half, at the 67th minute, a handball incident by a player from the Me Linh Commune team resulted in a penalty kick for the Chi Dong Town team, who capitalized on the opportunity to lead 1-0. This score remained unchanged until the end of the match.

With a 1-0 victory over the Me Linh Commune team, the Chi Dong Town football team secured the championship title of the 3rd Me Linh District Hai Ba Trung Cup Football Tournament 2024, marking their second consecutive championship win.
Immediately after the final, the organizing committee awarded prizes to teams and individuals. Specifically, the first prize, valued at VND 20 million, along with the championship trophy and gold medals, was awarded to the Chi Dong Town football team; the second prize, worth VND 15 million, along with the silver medals and flag, was given to the Me Linh Commune team; and two third prizes, each worth VND 10 million, along with the bronze medals and flags, were awarded to the Tu Lap Commune and Quang Minh Town teams.

The organizing committee also presented commemorative tokens to the referee team and additional awards. The top scorer award went to Anh Duc of the Chi Dong Town team; the best goalkeeper award was given to Dang Quang Thai Ha of the Me Linh Commune team; and the best player award was received by Nguyen Van Son of the Chi Dong Town team.

In his concluding remarks, Le Van Khuong, Vice Chairman of the Me Linh District People’s Committee and Head of the Organizing Committee, stated that the 3rd Me Linh District Hai Ba Trung Cup Football Tournament 2024 took place from October 5 to November 10, with the participation of 19 teams, including 18 teams from communes and towns within the district and the Inoue Vietnam Rubber Company. Over more than a month of competition, with 28 exciting and engaging matches, the tournament concluded successfully. It not only provided the audience with thrilling and entertaining matches but also contributed to promoting sports and physical activity, creating a healthy playing field for young football teams in the district. Additionally, it served as an opportunity to discover and nurture young football talents in Me Linh District.
