According to the report at the conference, Hanoi has successfully organized many meaningful activities. Notably, a large and effective “peak” emulation campaign was launched involving cadres, party members, workers, officials, employees, and all layers of people in Hanoi to mark the 70th anniversary of the Capital Liberation.
100% of departments, agencies, political and social organizations, districts, towns, and affiliated units within the city have organized emulation movements that have attracted widespread participation from all sectors of society and achieved significant results. On October 8, 2024, the city hosted a conference to honor advanced role models, “Good people, good deeds,” and honored the “Outstanding Citizens of Hanoi.” During this event, 700 exemplary “Good people, good deeds” and 10 “Outstanding Citizens of Hanoi” were honored”.

The city’s departments also carried out many gratitude activities, including organizing delegations to visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, laying wreaths at memorials for fallen soldiers in the city’s cemeteries and monuments. Three delegations from the city visited memorials and offered incense at cemeteries for fallen soldiers in Ha Giang, Dien Bien, and Quang Tri, while also visiting and presenting gifts to the families of martyrs who directly participated in the anti-French resistance and the Liberation of Hanoi, with a total of 2,556 gifts valued at nearly VND 13 billion.
The program “Cultural Festival for Peace” was held solemnly. A national scientific seminar on the theme “New Vision, New Opportunities to Build Hanoi as a Civilized, Modern, Globalized Capital” (co-organized by the Party Central Propaganda Department, the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Public Security, and Hanoi Party Committee) attracted numerous experts, leaders, managers, and research agencies from various fields.

Notably, the national-level ceremony commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Capital Liberation, organized by the Party Central Committee, the National Assembly, the President, the Government, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, and the Hanoi City People’s Committee, was successfully held on October 10, 2024. The event left a profound impact, conveying a deep educational message on historical traditions to the people of Hanoi and the entire nation.
Overall, large-scale activities were successfully organized, solemnly, and with the appropriate stature, meeting the plan and quality requirements, with both broad and deep impacts, attracting public attention both domestically and internationally. These activities stirred emotions and fostered trust, pride, and a renewed belief in the Party, President Ho Chi Minh, and the country’s and the City’s renewal process.

With the spirit of the Liberation of Hanoi, Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee expressed confidence that, in the future, the Party committee, government, and people of Hanoi would lead by example, work in unity, and strive to meet the goals and tasks set out in the 13th National Party Congress and the 17th Hanoi Party Congress resolutions. The city will prepare well to successfully organize the Party Congresses for the 2025-2030 term and the 18th Hanoi Party Congress in preparation for the 14th National Party Congress;
