Promoting revolutionary traditions, the officials and people of Dong Duong Village (Tao Duong Van Commune, Ung Hoa District) have united their efforts to achieve comprehensive development in various fields: economy, culture, society, national defense, and security. Recently, the village was recognized as an Exemplary Civilized Cultural Village.
Particularly, in the process of building an advanced new rural area, Dong Duong Village was selected to implement Project 02 on constructing an “Exemplary, Civilized Cultural Village” to improve the quality of the movement “All People Unite to Build Cultural Life,” develop individuals, families, community, and a healthy, progressive rural cultural environment that reflects the rich identity of the Vietnamese nation. The project also focuses on developing grassroots cultural facilities, providing conditions for people to access culture, and enhancing both the material and spiritual life of residents.
After more than one year of implementing Project 02 with high determination, active participation from the Party cell, village leaders, the Fatherland Front committee, mass organizations, and the consensus of officials and residents, Dong Duong Village has now met all criteria of an Exemplary, Civilized Cultural Village. Many effective and creative models have been applied, such as: the “Green, Clean, Beautiful Cultural House” model; the “Source Organic Waste Sorting” model; the “Self-Managed Flower Streets” model… The sense of community has been strengthened, public order ensured, environmental landscapes have noticeably improved, and the material and spiritual life of the people has been increasingly enhanced.

By the end of 2024, over 96% of households achieved the title of Cultural Family. Social order and safety were maintained, with no large-scale or prolonged complaints; political security was stable. The village effectively applied socialization to implement works and activities serving the people, such as: socializing the installation of house number plates, painting murals, setting up fitness equipment, organizing traditional festivals, and giving study encouragement gifts.
Paying attention to spiritual life, since 2019, Dong Duong Village Library has been established, becoming a destination for readers of all ages in the village. The library holds about 2,000 book titles across various genres, meeting the needs of readers. With a clean, airy space and neatly arranged books, the library has contributed to maintaining and developing reading culture in the community.
In addition, Dong Duong Village also has an active cultural, artistic, and sports movement. Residents love arts and sports, actively choosing suitable activities and maintaining regular practice. The village has many clubs: health exercise, badminton, football… which operate regularly and effectively. In 2029, the village’s art team won First Prize at the city-level Former Youth Volunteer Singing Contest.
Being recognized as an Exemplary, Civilized Cultural Village is not only a source of pride but also a responsibility for the officials and people of Dong Duong to continue trusting and striving further on the journey to build a more developed, civilized, and prosperous homeland.
