On this occasion, Ba Vi district organizes competitions associated with ethnic minorities in the seven mountainous communes, namely, mountain climbing in Ba Vi district, men’s and women’s volleyball, stick pushing, wrestling, crossbow shooting, chess, female volleyball. This early spring sports tournament attracted many athletes from the mountainous communes to attend, especially, attracting visitors to the Tan Vien Son Thanh festival. In the sports tournament system organized by the District Center for Culture, Information and Sports for many years, many tournaments have always attracted a lot of athletes participating as much as table tennis, badminton, Open Ba Vi Tennis, the professional quality of the tournament is always appreciated.
In recent years, the District Center for Culture, Information and Sports has always together with the Representative Committee of the Elderly in Ba Vi district to organize the Elderly Festival every year. This sports tournament always attracts thousands of elderly people to participate in nourishing gymnastics, table tennis, steam volleyball, badminton.
In addition, the Center also cooperates with the district Education and Training sector to organize mini football tournaments, athletics tournaments, chess, and Karatedo. Each school year, the sports subjects such as badminton, table tennis, volleyball, tug of war in this festival dedicated to teachers have also promoted better the movement of physical training and sports among managers and teachers at each school.
Not only the two education branches and the Representative Committee of the Elderly, each year, the Ba Vi Center for Culture, Information and Sports also coordinates with the Youth Union, the District Labor Federation, the Farmers’ Union, and the Women’s Union to hold prizes for union members and youth.
In particular, in the past few years, Ba Vi Center for Culture, Information and Sports has actively coordinated with the Office of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Ba Vi district, and the District Department of Education and Training to organize free swimming classes for students. In addition to promoting mass sports, Ba Vi district has also focused on organizing gifted sports for students, to create a source of high-achievement sports competitions. In 2019, when participating in a sports tournament organized by Hanoi city, Ba Vi district won 7 gold medals and 5 silver medals.
Not only focusing on the sports tournaments organized by the district, for many years, the Ba Vi Center for Culture, Information and Sports has always coordinated with the communes to organize football, badminton, volleyball tournaments to welcome the Tet events, the Summer prizes, etc. Massive sports were also well promoted by communes and towns. In many communes, the movement to practice volleyball is spreading slightly. The mass sports and physical training movement has contributed to increasing the rate of people doing physical exercises and sports in Ba Vi reaching about 35%.
