At the competition, students will compete in 11 sports events, including swimming, basketball, football, taekwondo, sack race, tug of war, athletics, chess, badminton, shuttlecock kicking, and table tennis.
The Student Sports Championship runs from October 12, 2024, and will conclude in February 2025. By the opening ceremony, five out of the eleven sports had been completed, including swimming, basketball, football, sack race, and tug of war, with 2,398 athletes participating. The organizers have awarded 114 medals in various categories.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Director of the Dong Da District Culture, Information & Sports Center, Tran Quang Long, stated: “The Student Sports Championship of Dong Da District is held annually at the beginning of the new school year. The competition, with 11 sports events, continues to affirm the growth of the physical fitness movement and assesses the physical education and extracurricular activities of the schools. It also helps identify and nurture students with talent in sports, enabling them to participate in city- and national-level sports competitions.”

In recent years, the Student Sports Championship has contributed to a transformation in physical education, promoting physical training, and attracting young people to engage in healthy sports activities. The competition helps develop many athletic talents for both the district and the city.
After the opening ceremony, the athletes will begin competing in football.
