In the morning of June 14, People’s Committee of My Duc district held a debriefing to summarize the management and organization of the Huong Pagoda Festival 2017.

According to statistics, from February 1 until April 30, there were 1.36 million visitors to Huong Pagoda Festival, increasing 5,658 visitors from the same period last year, including 7,800 foreign visitors. This Huong Pagoda Festival was assessed to take place as planned with considerate welcome, sufficient means of transport for visitors attending the festival, and the solemn opening ceremony ensuring the Buddhist rituals.
Within the event framework, the social and cultural sub-committee has well communicated the regulations of the State and of the Organizing Committee to the people and tourists. The strict examination and handling of gambling and superstition have been strengthened. Leaflets on traffic laws and forest and wildlife protection were also delivered by the organizing committee to raise awareness of visitors to the festival.
During the festival, inspection teams made the records and seized more than 300 books with superstitious contents, 120 illegal videotapes, 6 signboards of physiognomy, together with other violent toys. In addition, the organizing committee was actively prepared for the medical work, strictly punishing the illegal private medical facilities. Particularly, the District Buddhist Managing Board developed plans to guide and arrange human resources in service for tourists to participate in religious work, ensuring the convenience and compliance with the law.
Particularly for traffic work, the situation of political security, social order and safety has been stable. Clear road and waterway transportation created favorable conditions for visitors. Regarding fire prevention, through inspections, the Organizing Committee asked 184 enterprises to sign commitments to following regulations on fire prevention. In order to ensure the safety of visitors, the district cooperated with the city’s public security to arrest 10 entities and detain 10 motorcycles soliciting tourists and causing traffic disorder.

The relic and environmental sanitation management sub-committee ensured that stalls were neatly erected, well-planned and beautifully landscaped. There was no stall encroaching roadway and impeding traffic.
At the debriefing, the Hanoi People’s Committee awarded certificates of merit to 5 collectives and 6 individuals and the District People’s Committee rewarded collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in organizing and managing the Huong Pagoda Festival 2017.
