Duong Lam ancient village suspended to welcome tourists from March 13
Accordingly, in the notice No. 47/TB – BQLDT, the Management Board of Duong Lam Ancient Village Relic suspends welcoming tourists at the relic sites from March 13.
During the suspension, the Board continued to promote the propagation and notification to the relics and ancient house landlords of the suspension during the pandemic, the general sanitation of the environment, disinfection to prevent the pandemic, ensuring absolute safety for tourists and staffs as well as local people. Based on the actual situation and the evolution of the pandemic, the Management Board of Duong Lam Ancient Relic will announce the time for welcoming tourists at the relic sites.
This is the second time the unit has announced such suspension to take initiative in implementing measures for preventing and controlling respiratory tract inflammation caused by the new strain of Coronavirus.
Mr Nguyen Dang Thao – Head of Management Board said that Duong Lam Ancient Village is a famous tourist attraction that attracts many domestic and foreign tourists. However, due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, Duong Lam Ancient Village is facing many difficulties and challenges. To prevent the spread of COVID-19, the Management Board of Duong Lam Ancient Relic has implemented many measures such as monitoring, measuring body temperature for tourists, providing free masks and washing hand sanitizers and so on to ensure a safe environment for the destination. The suspension at the Ancient Village in Duong Lam aims to limit the crowd of people, prevent the spread of the pandemic, and ensure public health in the context of the increasingly complicated situation of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Duong Lam ancient village (Son Tay, Hanoi) is not only honored as a national architectural and artistic monument but also recognized as a city-level destination for its special values of culture, history, architecture and natural landscapes. Ancient Village Relic in Duong Lam is currently preserving the diverse tangible and intangible cultural values with over 60 monuments such as communal houses, temples, cathedrals, churches, and nearly 300 Ancient houses of 100 – 400 years of age. Experiencing many ups and downs of history, this place still retains the customs, practices, beliefs of a rural village with banyan trees, wharves, communal yards … On average, Duong Lam welcomes about 130,000 – 150,000 tourists each year, including many international tourist delegations.
