The thematic exhibition displays more than 300 typical documents including books, newspapers and magazines arranged in 4 sections, reflecting the situation and major changes in the life of the Vietnamese people before and after the August Revolution.
Section 1: “Vietnam before the August Revolution 1945” displays documents about the oppression and exploitation of the colonial regime and the destitute life of the Vietnamese people under this period; The awareness and change of ideology of all classes of people in the face of poverty; The uprisings and the urgent preparation of the whole nation to seize the opportunity to rise up for a general uprising to seize the power.
Section 2: “August Revolution – A great turning point in the history of the Vietnamese nation” displays books affirming the position, stature and great historical value of the August Revolution, including 2 typical books are: “From partial uprising to general uprising in August Revolution 1945” and “August Revolution 1945 – The first great victory of the Vietnamese nation in the twentieth century”.
Section 3: “National Day September 2 and independent days” displays many images reflecting the joyful and exciting atmosphere, with flags and flowers flying everywhere on the National days. This section also displays many books written about the first days after the independence, special moments of independent days that have gone down in history…
Section 4: “Vietnam and the today renovation cause” reflects the economic and social life and the remarkable development steps of Vietnam in the years after liberation. The books selected for display in this section are very diverse, including books about the achievements that people have achieved in most fields during the renovation period, and books about famous landscapes… These are the achievements that our Party and people who have sacrificed their life for the sake of independence, freedom, development and renovation of the country.
The thematic exhibition will last until September 10, 2022 at the National Library of Vietnam, 31 Trang Thi, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi.
