In accordance with Plan No. 354/KH-UBND dated December 4, 2024, issued by the Hanoi People’s Committee on organizing activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Public Security Force (August 19, 1945 – August 19, 2025) and the 20th anniversary of the All-People’s Day for National Security Protection (August 19, 2005 – August 19, 2025), the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, in coordination with the Hanoi Public Security, held the exhibition “Hanoi Public Security – Serving the People.”

The exhibition features over 150 photographs, documents, artifacts, and propaganda posters across three main sections: first section: President Ho Chi Minh and the Hanoi Public Security Force; second section: Hanoi Public Security – Serving the People; third section: For a Peaceful and Beautiful Capital.

Each image and artifact displayed at the exhibition provides a vivid snapshot reflecting the political courage, fighting spirit, perseverance, and silent dedication of the Hanoi Public Security over 80 years of development and growth. From silent achievements in ensuring national security, maintaining social order, and uncompromisingly fighting crime, to heroic battles against fire and other disasters, as well as close, dedicated service to the people – all are authentically and emotionally depicted, helping to spread the image of Hanoi Public Security officers who “forget themselves for the country, serve the people.”

Founded in August 1945, the Vietnam People’s Public Security Force has been nurtured and trained with great care by the Party and President Ho Chi Minh, supported wholeheartedly by the people. The force has overcome countless difficulties and achieved glorious victories, contributing significantly to the national liberation struggle, reunification of the country, and building and protecting the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
The golden pages of the history of the Vietnam People’s Public Security Force include significant contributions from the Hanoi Public Security Force. Looking back over 80 years of heroic achievements, the marks, accomplishments, and courageous victories of Hanoi Public Security officers during wartime and in peacetime remain bright highlights, permanently etched in the memories of the people of Hanoi and the entire nation. These achievements authentically embody the spirit: “Forget yourself for the country, serve the people” – a guiding ideal for the Vietnam People’s Public Security Force over the past 80 years.
During his lifetime, President Ho Chi Minh lovingly reminded: “Our police are the People’s Police, serving the people.” This sacred guidance has become the “compass” for all activities of the Hanoi Public Security. Each officer constantly keeps in mind and practices the Six Teachings of Uncle Ho to the People’s Police, while striving to “rely on the people, fight and sacrifice for the people”, continuing to compose heroic chapters that affirm their core role as the Party’s “sharp sword” and the people’s “iron shield.”
The exhibition “Hanoi Public Security – Serving the People” is an occasion to honor and express gratitude for the silent yet courageous contributions of the Hanoi Public Security in maintaining the safety and peace of the people’s lives. Through the exhibition, the organizers hope to ignite pride, dedication, and social responsibility among each Hanoi Public Security officer, while also spreading the positive values of the Vietnam People’s Public Security Force in the hearts of the people in Hanoi and nationwide.
The exhibition “Hanoi Public Security – Serving the People” is held at the Exhibition House, 93 Dinh Tien Hoang Street, Hoan Kiem Ward, Hanoi, from August 10 to August 20, 2025.
