During the first two days of June, at the Exhibition Hall of 93 Dinh Tien Hoang Street, there took place an art exhibition titled “Indiginous knowledge – Spring of life”, with a view to introducing and honouring the intellectual beauties imbedded in the cultural customs and practices of over 20 Vietnamese ethnic minorities.
The exhibition was held under the annually-implemented project “I believe I can” supported by the Institute of Socio-Economic and Environmental studies (iSEE), the Centre for Community Empowerment (CECEM), the Centre for Sustainable Development of the Mountains (CSDM), the Embassy of Ireland, the European Union, Internationa CARE, Plan International, ChildFund.
The exhibition brought to the public in the Capital the works co-researched by the representatives of over 20 ethnic minority communities coming from 16 provinces in the whole country, on their cultures and long-standing customs and practices conducted in various forms as: Colour pictorial story books on “An old story of Hmong” made by the Ha Noi Action Group for Hmong minority development; Documentary film on “Save natural forests” by the Tay group of Lang Son province; Story pictorial set on the seasons festival of the Dao group in Bac Kan province; Interactive pictorial works on “Story by the wharf” of the ethnic groups of E De in Dak Lak province,.. Though the showcase, it helped spread the knowledge values of localities, self-learning and knowledge-creating abilities of the ethnic minority communities and honor their unique cultural charaters.
In conjunction with the “I believe I can” event, there were other activities happening i.e: topical discussions at the French Cutral Centre and music performances at the pedestrian street quarter of Hoan Kiem lake,..
