In celebration of Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day (November 23), the Temple of Literature Center for Cultural and Scientific Activities has officially launched “Viet Nam Dieu Su – Digital Heritage Experience.” The project applies augmented reality (AR) technology combined with artificial intelligence (AI), marking a breakthrough in the preservation and promotion of heritage through modern technology at this historic site.

Le Xuan Kieu, Director of the Temple of Literature Center for Cultural and Scientific Activities, speaks at the launch ceremony.

The “Viet Nam Dieu Su” project embodies the message “Preserving Heritage through Technology – Connecting the Past with the Future,” highlighted on Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day 2025. The harmonious integration of traditional values with advanced technology is expected to bring fresh momentum to Vietnam’s heritage tourism, particularly appealing to younger generations who will carry forward the mission of safeguarding and promoting national cultural heritage.

Through digital applications, heritage is brought closer to the public, especially young people, offering new perspectives on Vietnam’s cultural legacy within the Temple of Literature complex. It is hoped that this experience will gain wider public recognition as an effective and engaging way to convey cultural values.

The comprehensive AR application offers a completely new experience for both domestic and international visitors to The Temple of Literature. AR technology brings history to life within real space, transforming visitors from passive observers into active participants who can directly engage with and experience cultural heritage, opening a more modern and compelling approach to heritage interpretation.

Immediately following the launch, visitors can experience the “Viet Nam Dieu Su” application free of charge at three AR stations set up in the front courtyard of the Nha Thay Do area.

As part of the digital launch at Nha Thay Do, visitors are invited to explore three immersive experiences: Village School Classroom – recreating traditional educational settings and historical teaching methods; Scholars Taking the Imperial Examination – vividly portraying the solemn yet emotional examination halls faced by candidates on their scholarly journey; Returning Home in Glory – reenacting the ceremonial procession of newly appointed doctors returning triumphantly to their hometowns.

Each experience point is equipped with modern devices, including iPads and dedicated display screens. Visitors may engage directly on site or download the application to their personal mobile devices, entirely free of charge.
