In celebration of Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day (November 23), the Cultural and Scientific Activities Center of the Temple of Literature – Quoc Tu Giam has officially launched the “Vietnam Marvelous History” digital heritage experience. This is an application integrating augmented reality (AR) technology and artificial intelligence (AI), marking a breakthrough in the preservation and promotion of heritage through modern technology at this historic site.

The “Vietnam Marvelous History” project embodies the message “Preserving heritage through technology – Connecting the past with the future” in response to Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day on November 23, 2025. The harmonious combination of traditional values and modern technology is expected to bring a fresh impetus to Vietnam’s heritage tourism, particularly appealing to younger generations – those who will continue the mission of safeguarding and promoting the nation’s cultural heritage.
Through the application of technology, heritage is brought closer to the public in general and to young people in particular, offering new perspectives on Vietnam’s cultural legacy within the Temple of Literature – Quoc Tu Giam. In the coming time, it is hoped that this experience will gain wider public recognition as an effective means of conveying cultural values.

The comprehensive AR application delivers an entirely new experience for both domestic and international visitors to the Temple of Literature – Quoc Tu Giam. AR technology “revives” history within the real space itself, transforming each visitor from a passive observer into an active participant who can directly engage with and experience cultural heritage values, thereby opening a more modern and appealing approach to heritage for the public.
Immediately after the launch ceremony, visitors to the Temple of Literature – Quoc Tu Giam can experience the “Vietnam Marvelous History” application free of charge at three AR stations arranged in the forecourt area of the Confucian Teacher’s House.
Within the framework of the launch of the digitalized application at the Confucian Teacher’s House area, visitors can explore the following experiences: Village School Classroom – simulating traditional educational spaces and teaching methods of the past; Scholars Sitting for the Examination – vividly portraying the solemn yet emotional atmosphere of the imperial examination grounds; Triumphal Return to One’s Homeland – recreating the ceremonial procession of newly appointed doctoral laureates returning to their native villages.
Each experience point is fully equipped with modern devices, including iPads and dedicated display screens. Visitors may experience the application directly on-site or download it to their personal mobile devices, entirely free of charge.
