On the morning of 2nd June, at Ly Thai To monument area, Ha Noi Department of Resources and Environment collaborated with Hoan Kiem People’s Committee held a meeting and “Green Life Festival” in response of the Action Month for Environment and World Environment Day 2018.

The Action Month for Environment and the World Environment Day 2018 themed “Beat plastic pollution” was aimed at urging communities to join hands in changing the habits of using and wasting plastic garbage.
“Green Life Festival” programme with the theme “Let’s act together for a green Ha Noi” was a concrete and substantive activity, showing the city’s determination and efforts in calling on the community to save, sustain, recycle and reuse the plastic materials; urging the use of environmental friendly energy, technologies and products; collecting and gathering electronic wastes and refraining from the useage of plastic bags, protecting the environment, building the green economy, heading for development of a sustainable and green Ha Noi. The festival’ activities would contribute to enhancing the dynamic and wholesome way of life, help raise the city folks’ awarenesses over the importance of environmental prodection, hence changing the habit of recycling, reusing garbage and wastes, acting for a worth to live and healthy city.

Within the framework of the programme, there took place a series of various activities i.e: Educational corner of “What is going on with Ha Noi environment” focussed on propagating the problem of environment pollution, solutions to health protection; and another corner called “Bringing garbage, taking gifts home” was conducted in the form of exchanging paper wastes, used bottles, plastic bags for green materials; the corner of “wasted garbage is resources” was creatively installed together with traditional games; the corner for “sustainable consumer products” introduced various types of organic and environment friendly goods.
