The festival gathers a wide range of outstanding cultural, artistic, and craft activities within Hanoi’s creative community, showcasing traditional handicrafts such as La Khe ancient silk, artistic paper lanterns, and Do paper paintings. It also offers a series of engaging workshops for all ages, including: decorating bamboo dragonflies and paper mâché masks; folk painting and making products from Do paper; creative experiences with lacquer art; monoprinting with woodblock templates; lacquer simulation experiences; reading the book “A Walk Through Time” and exploring traditional patterns; coloring Dong Ho paintings on Do paper; silk painting; recycling old items; creating mosaic artworks; and, in particular, the workshop “Vanh khan nep toc” where participants can experience traditional hair wrapping and try on Vietnamese attire.

The festival “Growing Up with Tradition” is a culturally rich event, a space for meeting, experiencing, and spreading the spirit of preservation – creativity – and development of heritage in contemporary life. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage closely and interactively with traditional handcrafted products imbued with the essence of Vietnamese culture.
In addition to creative experience activities, the unique craft stalls at “Growing Up with Tradition” also feature traditional music performances such as Xam, Ca tru, and Mong flute music, promising to create vibrant moments amid the lively atmosphere of the festival season, where heritage and tradition blend dynamically.

Held at Ho Van – an important section within the larger Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam complex – an open space designed to enable everyone to participate in experiences, exchanges, and heritage exploration in the most approachable and lively way.
