Hanoi’s program was highly praised for its clear message, strong representation of Thang Long – Hanoi cultural identity, and high artistic quality.

The festival took place from November 15 to November 19, 2025, in An Giang Province. The event was organized by the Department of Grassroots Culture, Family and Library (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism), in coordination with relevant agencies and units.

Representing the City of Hanoi at the festival, the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports selected Lo Khe Village, Thu Lam Commune, to participate.

Lo Khe Village is a locality with a long-standing cultural and revolutionary tradition. President Ho Chi Minh visited the village in 1964; it has received a Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister for its achievements in the movement “All People Unite to Build a Cultural Life,” and its “Saving” movement was recognized by former General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

The village is notable for its rich folk art traditions, including classical tuong, cheo, ca tru, and water puppetry, as well as three nationally recognized intangible cultural heritages.

Lo Khe Village has also achieved comprehensive results in the movement “All People Unite to Build a Cultural Life,” having maintained the title of “Cultural Village” for 22 consecutive years, effectively implementing civilized lifestyles and sustaining cultural institutions. Its socio-economic development is strong, education leads the region, and ca tru preservation activities have won numerous high-level awards.

Hanoi’s competition program consisted of two parts. The first was the thematic performance “The Shining Journey – Connecting Community Culture,” featuring the skit “Lo Khe – The Echoing Soul of the Homeland,” which reflected the village’s cultural traditions, 25 years of achievements in building cultural life, new development accomplishments, and digital transformation trends, including the use of TikTok channels to promote culture. The second part was an art performance comprising five representative traditional music and art pieces of Hanoi: Festival Drum Performance: The Heroic Spirit of Thang Long; Ca tru: Hat noi style “Playing at Ho Tay”; Dance: Courtyard Gate; Solo performance on the dan day: The Beauty of Hanoi; Hat van: Celebratory Song for Hanoi. All selected performances represented distinctive art forms, highlighting local strengths and aligning well with the festival’s 2025 criteria.

As a result, the Hanoi delegation won two A Prizes for the skit “The Shining Journey – Connecting Community Culture” and the festival drum performance The Heroic Spirit of Thang Long, as well as two B Prizes for the ca tru performance “Playing at Ho Tay” and hat van piece “Celebratory Song for Hanoi.” The Festival Organizing Committee also awarded certificates of merit from the Department of Grassroots Culture, Family and Library to two individuals for their contributions to coordination and organization.

With these achievements, the Hanoi delegation was recognized by the Organizing Committee and fellow delegations as one of the most well-prepared units, with profound content and a strong expression of distinctive local cultural values. The program contributed to promoting the image of Hanoi as a friendly capital rich in tradition and creativity to provinces and cities nationwide.
