After a week of competition (March 8-14), Vietnam Archery competed successfully in the Asian Cup 2020 in Thailand, winning 3 gold medals, 3 silver medals and 2 bronze medals ranked second in the whole group (following Russia team with 4 gold medals).
Archer Loc Thi Dao is running out well towards the Olympic goal.
The three gold medals which Vietnamese archers won in this tournament belonged to archers Nguyen Van Duy, Thach Phi Hung and Trinh Van Duc of the Men’s Team; and Chau Kieu Oanh, Le Phuong Thao and Nguyen Linh Chi of Women’s team; Loc Thi Dao for women’s singles. This is the second individual gold medal of Ms Dao in the Asian Cup after her first in 2017.
In the framework of the Asian Archery Cup 2020, Vietnamese archers attended 6 finals in a total of 10 subjects. Among Vietnamese archers competing in the tournament, athlete Loc Thi Dao is outstanding when she shows almost absolute advantage in the final Archery for 1-string bow and won 7-3 against Ksenia Perova (Russia).
In addition to her gold medal, archer Loc Thi Dao also brought a bronze medal for Vietnam Archery in the doubles of men and women when paired with Nguyen Hoang Phi Vu.
In the achievement table of the Vietnam Archery team at this tournament, archer Loc Thi Dao has gained a full set of medal colors. This achievement will be good momentum for Hanoi archers towards the goal of winning tickets for the 2020 Olympic Games. It is expected that in April, Loc Thi Dao and her teammates will depart for Germany to attend the qualifying round as the last chance to win tickets for the Olympics.
Before participating in the archery of the Asian Cup 2020 in Thailand, Vietnam Archery had 2 tickets for the Olympic Games belonging to Do Thi Anh Nguyet and Nguyen Hoang Phi Vu.
