Since 2017, Hanoi Cheo Theater has successfully organized the program “Hanoi Saturday Night.” The program takes place every Saturday evening at Dai Nam Theater, 89 Pho Hue.
Over nearly 10 years, Hanoi Cheo Theater has staged dozens of performances, serving thousands of Cheo-loving audiences and reviving the atmosphere of Cheo art in the capital. These include classical Cheo plays, new Cheo productions, and famous excerpts. Notable performances and Cheo excerpts include: “Nang Sita,” “Quan Am Thi Kinh,” “Ngoc Han Cong Chua,” “Chuyen tinh nguoi mat tich,” Quan lon ve lang, Nang thu phi ho Dang, Chuyen tinh tren ben Nam Xang, Ngoc Han Cong Chua, Canh chim trang trong dem, Truong Vien, Trinh Nguyen, Nuoc mat trang Quynh, Nam xoi ki dieu, Canh dieu lang Vu Dai; “Muu cao Thi Hen,” “Ba gia len thanh pho,” “Gia dinh van hoa,” “Chuyen nha Ba Kien,” etc.
The Saturday evening performances of Hanoi Cheo Theater feature participation from People’s Artists Thu Huyen, Quoc Chiem; Meritorious Artists Minh Nhan, Le Tuan, Ngoc Anh, Duc Thuan, Thanh Loan, Thu Hang, Hoai Thu, Thao Quyen, Phuong May; and artists Quoc Phong, Ngoc Phu, Xuan Dung, Manh Hung, Viet Thang, Hong Nam, Manh Hung, Tien Nghi, Dao Dung… The performances of Hanoi Cheo Theater are always engaging and attract audiences to attend.
