On the afternoon of November 13, at the Ho Chi Minh Museum, the Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism organized the fire-request ceremony to light the torch for the 11th Capital Sports Games in 2025.
At exactly 5:00 p.m., the delegation, including leaders of the Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and outstanding athletes of the capital’s sports sector, set off from Nguyen Thai Hoc Street to the Ho Chi Minh Museum to perform the fire-request ceremony.

Before requesting the fire at the Ho Chi Minh Museum, the delegation visited the mausoleum and laid a wreath in memory of President Ho Chi Minh.

Member of the Party Committee and Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Bach Lien Huong, led the delegation in paying tribute and laying the wreath at President Ho Chi Minh’s mausoleum.

Afterwards, the delegation carried out the fire-request ceremony.

Leaders of the Ho Chi Minh Museum handed the torch to Bach Lien Huong, Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Director Bach Lien Huong then passed the torch to the delegation of athletes.

After the ceremony, the torch relay moved from the Ho Chi Minh Museum to the Hanoi Athletics Palace along the route: Hung Vuong – Tran Phu – Kim Ma – Nguyen Chi Thanh – Tran Duy Hung – Thang Long Boulevard – Le Quang Dao – Tran Huu Duc.

The 11th Capital Sports Games in 2025 is expected to take place over 42 days (from November 4 to December 15, 2025) with 25 sports including swimming, athletics, table tennis, football, badminton, taekwondo, wrestling, tennis, volleyball (both traditional and soft), basketball, karate, aerobic gymnastics, wushu, billiards & snooker, chess, Chinese chess, sports dance, Pencak Silat, Vovinam, roller sports, e-sports, traditional martial arts, shuttlecock kicking, qigong, and tug-of-war.
In addition, traditional ethnic sports and folk physical games suitable to local traditions will also be organized at the Games. This is the first time the Capital Sports Games have been held after the implementation of the two-level local government system, across 126 communes and wards.
The 11th Capital Sports Games feature a larger scale, more diverse content, and a broader impact compared to the 10th Games in 2022.

The 11th Capital Sports Games in 2025 is a key event to promote the movement “All People Exercise Following the Example of Great Uncle Ho,” the campaign “All People Unite to Build Cultural Life,” and to foster the movement “Sports for All”.

Through the Games, sporting talent will be discovered and nurtured; the organizational system will be strengthened; the capacity of staff, coaches, and referees will be improved; and outstanding athletes will be well prepared to participate in the 10th National Sports Games in 2026.
