Hanoi City has issued a Resolution promulgating the list of areas, relics, heritages, and constructions that require concentrated resources for protection and promotion of cultural values; the list of characteristic blocks and streets of cultural and historical value; and the list of architectural works of value to be restored, preserved, and promoted in Hanoi (Phase 1), including:
Regarding the list of tangible cultural heritages: the list of typical relics managed by the Hanoi People’s Committee includes 10 relics; the list of relics recognized as special national relics includes 22 relics; the list of relics ranked as national relics includes 1,164 relics; the list of relics ranked as city-level relics includes 1,600 relics; the list of revolutionary and resistance relics includes 46 relics; the list of commemorative sites of revolutionary and resistance events includes 354 sites; the list of nationally recognized treasures includes 34 treasures; and the list of ancient villages includes 1 ancient village.
Regarding the list of Intangible Cultural Heritage: The list of intangible cultural heritages inscribed by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), including 6 heritages; intangible cultural heritages inscribed in the National Intangible Cultural Heritage List, including 42 heritages; the list of craft villages, traditional craft villages, and typical traditional crafts of Hanoi includes 182 craft villages, 54 traditional craft villages, and 7 traditional crafts.
Regarding the list of characteristic blocks and streets of cultural and historical value: streets in Hanoi’s Old Quarter within level I protection and restoration areas include 21 streets; streets in Hanoi’s Old Quarter within level II protection and restoration areas include 40 streets; sections of streets in Hanoi’s Old Quarter with many villas of special architectural value include 16 street sections; and sections of streets in Hanoi’s Old Quarter with many villas of notable architectural value include 11 street sections.
Regarding the list of other architectural works of value: the list of old villas built before 1954 includes 222 villas classified as group 1 and 356 villas classified as group 2; the list of public architectural works built before 1954 includes 40 works of special value and 21 works of notable value.
The Hanoi People’s Committee is responsible for organizing the implementation of the Resolution; promoting, publicizing, supporting, and mobilizing resources from organizations and individuals to preserve, restore, and promote cultural values; and studying options to adjust or amend the list appropriately after completing the reorganization of administrative units at all levels and establishing a two-level local government model.
The Standing Committee of the People’s Council, the Committees of the People’s Council, and the City People’s Council’s delegations and deputies will supervise the implementation of this Resolution.
The City of Hanoi requests the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi and socio-political organizations to promote, mobilize, and monitor the implementation of the Resolution among the people./.
