Shinhan Finance was awarded the Certificate of Merit by Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports.
The project “Bookcase of dreams” has been implemented so far at 4 provincial and city libraries in Vietnam, awarding 27 bookcases with more than 10,230 children’s books, in combination with the support for decorating 4 reading rooms for children, including the Library at Nam Dinh Province, Thua Thien Hue, Bac Giang and Hanoi City. The project “Bookcase of Dreams” continues to be implemented to help Vietnamese children improve their active reading habits and skills and make them feel happy when reading. Books and reading culture have a great influence in fostering and developing a civilized, progressive and successful young generation of Vietnam.
Children should actively read books in public libraries. In fact, children often read textbooks only to serve their learning demand at school instead of spending time reading other diverse and useful kinds of books. Besides, the preparation of lively books on multiple topics, suitable for children’s cognition and age at public libraries will draw the attention of children, helping them practice their active reading skills, enriching their knowledge and developing thinking and EQ in children, provided that children actively choose books to read, read books carefully and repeatedly.
The Bookcase will help children in Hanoi have more opportunities to access new and useful books.
“We believe that, through this program, children in Hanoi will have more opportunities to access new useful books which inspire them to form and develop active and effective reading skills. After Nam Dinh, Thua Thien Hue, Bac Giang, Hanoi is the fourth city where Shinhan Finance’s book donation program is conducted. We are still trying to extend this journey across Vietnam” – said Mr. Oh Tae Joon, the Deputy General Director of Shinhan Finance.
Also at the ceremony, Shinhan Finance was awarded the Certificate of Merit by Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports for its contributions and support to the city’s Culture and Sports industry in general and the Hanoi Library in particular.
