Mrs. Veronique Dollfus – Consultant of Hanoi Museum Content introduced detailed design of the 2nd floor.
At the meeting, members of the Advisory Council contributed many opinions to complete the detailed design. According to Asso. Prof. Dr. Pham Mai Hung, the display design of Hanoi Museum is based on the artifacts collected by Hanoi Museum, so it has the “backbone” of the Museum. Thereby, it is possible to imagine the layout of artifacts to promote the value to the maximum extent that the artifacts contain. This exhibition design has minimized the waste of space. Asso. Prof. Pham Mai Hung said that we have begun to feel that Hanoi Museum has the appearance of a modern museum of the world on 2 aspects: First, in terms of architecture, Bao Hanoi Museum has been classified into one of the most beautiful museums in the world; and secondly, in terms of expression, the Hanoi Museum will not repeat like the museums in Vietnam but has a new step to approach the general development of other museums in the world. Two factors ensure the new look of Hanoi Museum. Besides, Hanoi Museum also needs to pay more attention to creating emotions in the exhibition spaces and avoid normality between the exhibition themes.
At the meeting, Vice Chairman of Hanoi City People’s Committee Ngo Van Quy highly appreciated efforts of the Hanoi Museuma and domestic and foreign consultants, in a very short time, detailed design of the 2nd floor is provided to continue engineering design to be submitted to the City for approval. The Advisory Council basically agreed about exhibition design on the second floor. However, in the coming time, the Hanoi Museum and the consulting unit will continue to work with experts to supplement and correct problems still on the basis of existing objects and continue to complete and present a detailed design drawings of the 2nd floor. In particular, Hanoi Museum should pay attention to some contents related to artifacts, materials, contents of 3 themes and introduction documents.
With existing artifacts and materials and limited time, the Museum and the group of experts continue to ask for advice from members of the Advisory Council to complete. On the other hand, after designing the 2nd floor, the investment owner continues to work with the design consultant to complete other works in the building, technical infrastructure and warehouse. At the same time, Hanoi Museum should continue to coordinate with experts to accelerate the progress and basically complete and welcome visitors by 2020.
