Hanoi Team Wins Overall Championship at the 2024 National Karate Championship

Following Hanoi in the rankings, the People’s Army team secured second place with 3 Gold Medals, 3 Silver Medals, and 5 Bronze Medals. The People’s Police team placed third with 3 Gold Medals, 3 Silver Medals, and 1 Bronze Medal.

The 33rd National Karate Championship, held in Dien Bien province, attracted 38 teams from various provinces, cities, the People’s Army, and the People’s Police, with 385 athletes. The competitors contested 30 sets of medals in the male and female Kata and Kumite events.

This championship is part of the series of activities celebrating the National Tourism Year – Dien Bien 2024, marking the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 – May 7, 2024) and the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Dien Bien Provincial Party Committee (October 10, 1949 – October 10, 2024).

The organizing committee assessed that despite the intense competition schedule, all events were lively, dramatic, and of high professional quality, accurately reflecting the athletes’ capabilities.

This year’s National Karate Championship has provided an opportunity for athletes to compete and enhance their awareness of the importance of sports training. Through the tournament, it has played a significant role in advancing the development of Karate in Vietnam.

The Hanoi team emerged as the overall champion with 4 Gold Medals, 6 Silver Medals, and 7 Bronze Medals.
