The 77th Frankfurt International Book Fair will take place from October 15 to 19, 2025, with the opening ceremony held on the afternoon of October 14, 2025, at Messe Frankfurt Exhibition Center, Frankfurt am Main (Federal Republic of Germany). The Hanoi delegation, led by Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Huong – Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports – brought to the world’s largest publishing event a selection of notable books on the history and culture of Hanoi and Vietnam. The goal is to introduce to international friends the image of Vietnam and its people, as well as the thousand-year-old, heroic, dynamic, creative, and peace-loving Capital – Hanoi.
On the morning of October 15, 2025, the Hanoi delegation, in coordination with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Vietnam Publishers Association, and Ho Chi Minh City, held the Opening Ceremony of the Vietnam Book Space at the Frankfurt International Book Fair 2025.

In his opening remarks, Deputy Minister Phan Tam emphasized that the Frankfurt International Book Fair is a symbol of creativity, dialogue, and cultural cooperation – a place where cultures meet, listen, and enrich one another. It also reflects Vietnam’s aspiration to “bring Vietnamese books closer to global readers.” Through this event, Vietnam hopes to strengthen cooperation within the publishing, translation, and copyright communities, while also expanding investment in digital publishing, e-books, audiobooks, and international copyright platforms. These efforts aim to help Vietnam’s stories reach global audiences more quickly and conveniently, positioning the country as a creative, dynamic, and reliable partner in the international publishing community.

On the morning of October 16, 2025, the Hanoi delegation paid a visit to the Consulate General of Vietnam in Frankfurt. On behalf of the delegation, Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Huong – Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports and Head of the Delegation – expressed appreciation to the Consulate for its consistent support and facilitation of Hanoi’s participation in the Frankfurt Book Fair each year. To strengthen cultural connections between Hanoi and the Vietnamese community in Germany, following the conclusion of the Book Fair, the delegation presented books to the Consulate to help keep the overseas Vietnamese community in Frankfurt and across Germany informed about the political, economic, cultural, and social developments of the Capital and the nation.
To promote international cultural exchange and integration in publishing, Hanoi once again participated in this year’s Frankfurt International Book Fair with a 48-square-meter exhibition booth located in the Asia Zone. Over 100 outstanding titles on the history and culture of Hanoi and Vietnam, along with a variety of distinctive tourism products, were showcased to international audiences. During the Book Fair, the Hanoi-Vietnam Book Space welcomed numerous visitors and delegations who came to exchange experiences in publishing, copyright trading, and to learn more about Hanoi’s and Vietnam’s culture and tourism.
