On June 9, Hoang Mai District held the final round of “2017 Friendly Residential Group Leaders” Contest.

Mr. Tran Quy Thai, Vice Chairman of Hoang Mai District People’s Committee, emphasized, in his opening speech, the contest’ objective to identify and enhance the role and position of the residential group leaders in implementing the contents of the movement “All people join hands to build a cultural life”, strongly promote the building of a grassroots cultural life while enhancing the initiative, creativity, and involvement of each citizen in cultural life and socio-economic development.
Throughout the Contest, the residential group leaders were given chances to exchange and share experience as well as improve skills to tackle situations in their residential groups, contributing to improving their management competences, bringing more extensive efficiency of activities and emulation movements at residential groups.
14 typical residential group leaders selected through the ward-level primary rounds held in May 2017 took part in the final round where they experienced 3 parts of the contest. There were multiple choice questions to test candidates’ knowledge of documents guiding the implementation of the movement “All people join hands to build a cultural life”; laws and policies related to residential groups and the urban life; establishment of “Elegant and civilized Hanoians” and Hanoi’s cultural and historical traditions. Besides, candidates competed with each other in the feuilleton and aptitude parts.
Finally, Mr. Nguyen Quang Gang, leader of the residential group no. 15, Tan Mai ward, successfully won the First prize, and was hence selected to participate in the “2017 Friendly Residential Group Leaders” contest of Hanoi City, expected to take place by late June 2017.
