In the evening of May 11, the Tay Ho District People’s Committee held the opening ceremony of art performances and street food space in Tay Ho District. The participants in the ceremony included Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tuan, Standing Vice Chairman of the City People’s Council; Ngo Van Quy, Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee.

Trinh Cong Son walking street belongs to the first stage of the Scheme of walking street – art performance and street food space in Tay Ho District carried out by the Tay Ho District People’s Committee. After many times of postponed organization to better prepare for the infrastructure, create the landscape for the space and create the consensus of people in the area, so far, the Tay Ho district officially puts it into operation..
Here, from 5:00 pm to 11:00 pm on Friday, and from 6:00 AM to 23:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday, there will be art and music performances including both folk and contemporary arts, both street and professional arts such as ca tru, xam, chau van, cheo singing, ethnic musical instruments, contemporary music, photo exhibitions, art exhibitions, folk games and many types of arts. All activities take place on the street, at the lake, beside the flower garden to creat the unique cultural space of Tay Ho which is friendly and makes people harmonic with nature and life.
Walking street attracts the attention of the large number of people
At the same time, there are also activities of service business, trade and tourism to serve the needs of shopping, entertainment, leisure and relaxation of the people and tourists; booths of food products and souvenir products of the traditional craft villages in Hanoi in general and Tay Ho district in particular as: steamed sticky rice, tea, Phu Thuong millet dry pancake, lotus and jasmine tea of Quang An. It has a spacious and airy space with many kinds of beautiful flowers and the view of the immense West Lake with wave and water… contributing to the honor of cultural values and development of tourism close to the commercial development of Tay Ho District as well as of Hanoi.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of Hanoi City People’s Committee Ngo Van Quy said that this is the second walking street of the city to be implemented with the purpose of creating the cultural and art products and becoming the places of entertainment for tourists to attract domestic and foreign tourists. For the effective operation and expansion of the walking street – performance art and street food art space at Trinh Cong Son Street in stage 2, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee Ngo Van Quy proposed that the Tay Ho District and related departments regularly supplement and improve the quality of cultural, art and food services on the street to increasingly meet the needs of people and tourists; maintain forces to ensure the management of urban order, environmental hygiene, fire and explosion protection, line division and traffic guide to ensure the convenient travel of people; maintain security and order at parking places, actively carry out the propaganda work, raise the awareness of the people and tourists regarding the purpose and meaning of the walking street, effectively implement the Code of Conduct in public places so that residents and visitors voluntarily follow the current regulations.
Business activities on walking street
Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee also requested the Tay Ho District People’s Committee to coordinate with the relevant departments, regularly survey, listen to and accept all opinions of people and visitors, organize to learn from experience in the first-phase implementation to provide the basis for the further implementation of the second phase of the Scheme so that the artistic and cuisine space of the walking street becomes the unique cultural space of the Capital, creating the new look for tourism and the destination of “Safety – Friendliness – Quality – Attractivenesss”.
Trinh Cong Son Street is adjacent to Dam Sen Park, West Lake Water Park, so it is expected to attract a lot of participants. Outside this street, the walking space also includes the Lane 431 Au Co and Lane 612 Lac Long Quan (Tay Ho district).
