The Hanoi Craft Village and Trade Street Culinary and Tourism Festival 2025 will take place from December 11 to 14 at the Tay Ho Creative Cultural Space (Trinh Cong Son Pedestrian Street), Tay Ho Ward, Hanoi. The event will feature 80-100 booths across an area of approximately 5,000 square meters.

This large-scale cultural and tourism event aims to honor the quintessence of traditional craft villages while promoting the image of the Capital to residents and domestic and international visitors.

The festival is designed around three main thematic spaces, forming a journey of discovery through Hanoi. The space titled “Craft Villages Tell Stories of Past and Present” introduces exemplary craft villages, including Bat Trang ceramics, Van Phuc silk, Chuong conical hats, Chang Son fans, Ha Thai lacquerware, Thuy Ung horn combs, Phu Vinh bamboo and rattan weaving, Quang Phu Cau incense sticks, Phung Xa weaving, and Chuyen My mother-of-pearl inlay and lacquer. Notably, Bat Trang ceramics and Van Phuc silk, both members of the World Crafts Council’s Creative Craft Cities Network, will serve as highlights. In this space, visitors can experience a craft street tourism setting and explore old Hanoi trade streets, with the story of Hang Ma Street recreated through artifacts, street models, Tet decorations, to he figurines, Hang Trong paintings, and more.

The “Enduring Flavors of the Past” space showcases the essence of Hanoi cuisine. Here, residents and visitors can explore cultural booths set within recreated traditional Hanoi houses, a West Lake lotus tea area, and signature specialties from renowned craft villages such as Vong green rice flakes, Phu Thuong sticky rice, Thanh Tri steamed rice rolls, Uoc Le pork sausage, Phung fermented pork rolls, Hoang Mai banh khuc, and Trang Tien ice cream. In addition, many iconic Hanoi dishes will be introduced, including beef pho, bun cha, shrimp fritters, snail noodle soup, egg coffee, and Hanoi draft beer. Beyond on-site tasting, visitors can select gift items such as banh com, candied fruits, lotus tea, che lam, and candied lotus seeds. Notably, visitors may also join cooking activities with chefs, watch artisan demonstrations, and sample distinctive dishes.

Many iconic traditional Hanoi dishes will be introduced at the festival.

The Hanoi tourism promotion space, titled “Strolling Through Hanoi”, will feature models of the Capital’s iconic landmarks, including the Thang Long Imperial Citadel, the Temple of Literature, the One Pillar Pagoda, Long Bien Bridge, Hoan Kiem Lake and Turtle Tower, Ngoc Son Temple and The Huc Bridge, Tran Quoc Pagoda, the Co Loa Citadel, and the Hanoi Opera House. Visitors can check in and take photos with these cultural and heritage symbols of the Capital. The area will also host booths promoting tours, stimulus programs, and new tourism products from reputable travel companies.

In addition to the main activities, the festival will feature side events such as hands-on craft experiences with artisans, culinary tastings and chef exchanges, and artistic performances.

The 2025 Craft Village and Trade Street Culinary and Tourism Festival is an important promotional activity aimed at tapping into the tourism potential of Hanoi’s craft villages and trade streets – values nurtured over hundreds of years of history. The festival helps introduce traditional handicraft products alongside modern creative works, while also promoting the distinctive culinary heritage of Thang Long – Hanoi.

The program also creates a distinctive cultural space for residents and visitors to explore Hanoi’s identity as a destination that is “Safe – Friendly – High-quality – Attractive.” It provides an opportunity to connect tourism enterprises, craft villages, and localities both domestically and internationally, opening avenues for cooperation and the development of inter-regional and cross-national products.
