The People’s Committee of Hanoi City has recently issued Plan No. 05/KH-BTC outlining the implementation of the writing competition on exemplary and progressive figures and good deeds, as well as the activities of discovery, propaganda, dissemination, and recognition of outstanding contributions in the patriotic movement in Hanoi in 2024.
The competition aims to effectively continue the tradition of showcasing exemplary and progressive individuals and deeds in various patriotic movements through impactful writing. It serves as a timely platform for the identification, commendation, recognition, and honoring of outstanding examples in the fields of work, education, production, and social life within the capital.
Open to all Vietnamese citizens residing, studying, and working both within and outside the borders of Hanoi, the competition invites participants (individuals or groups of authors) to submit articles or works falling within the field of journalism (print media, online media, radio, television, etc.).
Entries for the competition, whether articles or journalistic works, must authentically reflect real individuals and deeds, providing clear details about the exemplary figures, good individuals, and commendable deeds taking place in their places of residence, study, or work. Fabrication or fictional content is strictly prohibited.
The leadership of Hanoi City has conferred the title of “Outstanding Capital Citizen 2021” upon deserving individuals.
These exemplary figures represent new progressive elements and noteworthy deeds discovered within the local patriotic movement. They are individuals or entities that have not been previously honored by any organization or authority or, if previously recognized, continue to engage in impactful activities that contribute to the local, unit, and city’s socio-economic development. Their efforts also demonstrate effective propaganda and educational outreach, creating a ripple effect in social life.
Each journalistic piece should not exceed 2,000 words (handwritten or typed) on A4 paper. Radio and television entries should not exceed a duration of 7 minutes. Authors are encouraged to supplement their works with portrait photos and depictions of the subjects’ activities. All journalistic works must be published in central or Hanoi-based newspapers and media outlets.
The competition is scheduled to commence on June 15, 2023. The organizing committee will accept journalistic works and competition entries at the city level until April 15, 2024. The evaluation, awarding, and recognition ceremony for the competition is planned for June 11, 2024.
Teams are honored with Certificates of Merit from the People’s Committee of Hanoi City for outstanding achievements in the 2020 writing competition on “Exemplary and Progressive Figures, Good Individuals, and Good Deeds.”
Regarding the efforts to discover, propagate, and replicate exemplary models in the local patriotic movement, various levels of government, sectors, units, and localities within Hanoi actively identify, construct, and select outstanding models that epitomize comprehensiveness or excellence within specific fields. These models serve as vehicles for disseminating experiences, methods, and commendable practices, acknowledging instances of learning and replication across entire agencies, units, and localities.
The propaganda content should concentrate on key areas such as results and achievements across economic, cultural, social, scientific, technological, urban planning, and management aspects, as well as the capital’s national-level competitive movements. These include directives from the Central Government and the City, such as “Nationwide Collaboration for Building New Countryside,” “For the Poor – Leaving No One Behind,” “Officials, Civil Servants, and Workers Compete to Uphold Office and Public Culture,” “Integration and Development of Hanoi’s Enterprises,” “Food Safety,” “Administrative Reform Acceleration,” “Joint Efforts to Build New Countryside,” “Capital’s Initiatives and Innovations,” “Promotion of Comprehensive and Sustainable Infrastructure Development in Hanoi in the Period 2022-2025,” and “Good People, Good Deeds.” There is also a focus on efficiently implementing tasks related to urban order and civility, ensuring traffic safety, managing sidewalks, and expediting the progress of the Ring Road 4 – Hanoi Capital Region construction project.
