The model of “Safe village” for women and children in Phu Tuc commune was established with 36 members. The model is to promote the role and responsibility of the Women’s Union organization and mobilize the participation of Party committees, authorities, sectors, unions and communities in ensuring safety for women and children in rural areas with 12 criteria and 5 essential and specific elements to promote gender equality; prevent domestic violence; prevent and combat human trafficking, sexual abuse and school violence; ensure traffic safety, occupational safety, food safety and hygiene, etc.
The model of “Safe village” for women and children is responsible for organizing activities to raise awareness, change behavior and act for safety for women and children in the locality; Organizing cultural activities, art performances, visit, organizing self-help activities of members in the model or support the community.
To operate the model of “Safe village” for women and children in Phu Tuc commune to work effectively, the Vice Chairman of the city’s Women’s Union requested the Phu Xuyen district Women’s Union to focus on campaigning resources to support women members, regularly monitoring and evaluating the model’s performance; The Women’s Union of Phu Tuc commune actively coordinated advocacy and propaganda among women members and local people to participate in ensuring safety for women and children and participated in the project, creating local pervasiveness, etc.
