Launching the Propaganda Poster Competition in Celebration of Major Anniversaries in 2025

On September 9, 2024, the Department of Grassroots Culture (under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) officially launched three poster creation competitions to mark significant national anniversaries in 2025: the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 – February 3, 2025); the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2025); and the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 – May 19, 2025).

The three competitions aim to widely promote among officials, Party members, and citizens of all backgrounds the rich historical, cultural, and revolutionary traditions of the nation. These competitions serve to instill patriotic values, pride, and national dignity, strengthening the public’s trust in the Party and State. They also motivate sectors, agencies, officials, Party members, and citizens to wholeheartedly implement the resolutions of Party congresses at all levels, as well as the 13th National Congress of the Party. By doing so, they reaffirm that the renewal journey initiated and led by the Party remains correct and progressive.

Propaganda Poster Competition: Celebrating the 95th Anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 – February 3, 2025):

With the theme, “The Communist Party of Vietnam – Resilience, Intelligence, Prestige, Innovation for National Independence and Socialism,” entries should illustrate the illustrious historical legacy of the Communist Party of Vietnam, its grand victories, and the nation’s remarkable achievements under Party leadership. Works should highlight the Party’s significant role, prestige, resilience, intelligence, leadership capabilities, and fighting spirit demonstrated over 95 years of revolutionary commitment. Additionally, they should underscore socialism as the Party’s ideal and the nation’s shared goal, demonstrating the socialist path as a wise choice of the Party, President Ho Chi Minh, and the Vietnamese people. Furthermore, entries should celebrate Vietnam’s historic milestones on the journey to socialism, particularly those realized over nearly 40 years of national renewal.

Propaganda Poster Competition: Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2025):

With the theme, “The Great Spring Victory of 1975 – The Power of National Unity, Aspiration for Peace, Independence, and National Reunification,” entries should communicate the historical significance, enduring values, and epochal stature of the resistance war against the United States. They should affirm the decisive role of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh’s wise leadership in achieving a monumental national victory, liberating the South, and unifying the country under socialism.

Entries must convey the strength of the great unity of the Vietnamese people, celebrating the courageous spirit, wisdom, resilience, and sacrifices of both military and civilian forces in securing victories. Works should highlight the contributions of the northern “rear” region to the southern frontline, the international support from friends, and the solidarity of workers and progressive forces worldwide in the struggle for liberation and unification, as well as during national renewal and global integration.

Entries should capture the distinctive artistry of Vietnam’s military strategies during the 1975 General Offensive and Uprising, culminating in the Ho Chi Minh Campaign, which liberated the South and unified the country. Furthermore, they should showcase valuable lessons in mobilizing and uniting forces toward national aspirations of peace, independence, and unity – lessons that continue to guide the nation’s development and efforts to safeguard the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

The competition also serves to honor and remember heroes, martyrs, heroic Vietnamese mothers, wounded and sick soldiers, and all civilians and soldiers who sacrificed their lives, strength, intellect, and resources to achieve the Great Spring Victory of 1975. The works should highlight Party and State policies, as well as initiatives by various agencies, localities, businesses, and social organizations in the “Gratitude and Remembrance” movement, supporting families of national contributors and those who have served the country.

Poster Design Contest for the 135th Birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 – May 19, 2025):

Under the theme “President Ho Chi Minh – The Great National Hero, Embodying Vietnam’s Ethos, Intellect, and Moral Integrity”, entries should highlight the illustrious life and revolutionary activities of President Ho Chi Minh. They are to honor his profound contributions to Vietnam’s revolutionary cause, the Communist movement, and the global workers’ movement, as well as the respect and admiration he has earned from people worldwide. The works should reflect the enduring power of Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, illustrating its creative application and development in the modernization and international integration of Vietnam.
