On the evening of 28th April, Ha Noi People’s Committee in coordination with the Sun Group and Phillips Lighting held an inaugural ceremony of the Lighting System of Nhat Tan bridge after its two month construction and installation. Attending the opening ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Duc Chung, Party Central Committee member, Deputy Secretary of Ha Noi Municipal Party Committee, Chairman of Ha Noi People’s Committee; Mr. Dao Duc Toan, Deputy Secretary of Ha Noi Municipal Party Committee; Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tuan, Standing Vice Chairman of Ha Noi People’s Council; H.E Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Holland and Japan.
Delegates start up the artistic lighting system of Nhat Tan bridge
The bridge of Nhat Tan is built across the Red river with 3.7 kms long and 33.2 metres wide, 8 vehicle lanes and 5 cable-throwing spans as an icon of the 5 Ha Noi city’s gates. Having been “newly coated” right on the occassion of the 42nd Anniversary of completely liberating the South region and national unity 30th April, and the International Labour Day the 1st May, the major transportation work is expected to become an unique emphasis in architecture, modern in culture and arts of Ha Noi city.
With a total length of 3,755 metres, the artistic lighting system of Nhat Tan bridge includes decorating the 5 bridge piles, throwing cables and two banisters. The entire routine road lights have been replaced with high quality leds, so as to ensure the aesthtics and save energy, as well as operating and Maintainance costs.
The new lighting system contains 16 million colour gram and flexible changing effects
The most state of the art lighting techonogy have been applied for this new lighting system, which contains 16 million clour gram and has been designed with flexible changing effects operated on daily basis or sensor by seasons, by which it helps show fantastic, amazing and modern beauties of the bridge under differrent colour shades. Besides, theme lightings have been made and programmed to be used during the special occassions of the year, bringing the city folks and visitors within and without with a dazzling “lighting feast” in the middle of Ha Noi’s night.

Speaking at the function, Vice Chairman of Ha Noi People’s Committee said: Nhat Tan bridge is one of the biggest in Viet Nam, a milestone in the friendly and cooperative relationship between Viet Nam and Japan. On behalf of the leadership of Ha Noi People’s Committee, and the Ministry of Transports, expresses thanks to the donors and construction units for having effortlessly completed the project in a very short timeframe, making it a significant landmark of the Capital.
