This is a youth’s project called “Murals convey the message of pandemic prevention and control”, showing the determination of the youth of Ha Dong district to join hands with all levels and sectors to fight the pandemic and create a green, clean and beautiful living environment and landscape. The project has a length of 100m, an area of 200m2, with 10 large-format visual propaganda and advocacy images on COVID-19 prevention and control. Youth union members and youths of Ha Dong district surveyed the location, selected the theme and agreed with the painters to implement it with a total budget of VND 50 million funded from the socialization budget. The murals with the content of propaganda on pandemic prevention have given artists, unions and youth many creative emotions because this is not only a work of art, but also the hidden gratitude to frontliners. Not being afraid of difficulties, artists are still working hard to draw outstanding and eye-catching murals and paintings with special outdoor paint material to ensure the durability of the paintings.
During the implementation process, the artists focused on depicting the sacrifices and dedications of the frontline team against the pandemic so that people could better understand and sympathize with their hardships, thereby further raising their awareness of and responsibility for pandemic prevention and control. Colorful and meaningful messages such as “Jointly prevent the COVID-19 pandemic”, “For a COVID-free world”, “Vietnam is determined to win the COVID pandemic”, “Oh Vietnam! Fighting against COVID”, “Preventing, detecting, isolating, zoning and eliminating the COVID-19 pandemic”… together with the messages to propagandize and remind the people of pandemic prevention and control measures such as “wearing masks regularly and properly to effectively prevent COVID-19”, “In case of fever, cough, shortness of breath, go to the nearest medical facility for advice, examination and treatment” or propagate the implementation of 5K message “Masks – Disinfection – Distance – Non gathering – Medical declaration” as recommended by the Ministry of Health to keep safe in the pandemic. The artists depict very vividly the team of doctors and nurses and the people’s gratitude to the frontliners such as “Thanks to the “white shirt soldiers”…
Images to propagandize and remind people of measures to prevent and control the COVID-19 pandemic.
Meaningful messages accompanied by vivid visual illustrations are not only an effective way of propaganda and encouragement but also contribute to beautifying the landscape and environment and mobilizing people to raise their awareness of building a civilized city. The old wall at this location is now an eye-catching painting, conveying a topical message. Many people are interested in the message of COVID-19 prevention and control here. Before the time of social distancing according to Directives No. 17 and Officials No. 18, 19 of the City People’s Committee, many children were taken by their parents to “check in” with the painting “Thanks to the “white shirt soldiers” to celebrate. Since murals are present, there are no piles of household wastes and leaflets and flyers around here.
With sharp images accompanied by easy-to-understand and accessible information, the youth of Ha Dong district wishes to fully reflect the risks of the pandemic to health and community life, step by step raising awareness of pandemic prevention in all classes of people. The project “Murals convey the message of pandemic prevention and control” is also a highlight in the implementation of the theme “Action for a green, clean, beautiful and civilized Ha Dong”.
