On the morning of August 17, the My Duc District Center for Culture, Information, and Sports, in collaboration with the Representative Committee of the Elderly Association in My Duc District, commenced a training course for elderly sports instructors in 2023.
Approximately 100 participants, representing the Elderly Association from various communes and towns, attended the training. These individuals are exemplary members known for their active and enthusiastic involvement in the physical training movement at the grassroots level. They possess the capability to absorb the content of the training course effectively, intending to impart their knowledge to association members at the community level. The training spans two days, taking place on August 17 and 18, 2023. Participants will receive guidance from experienced trainers to enhance their skills in Tai Chi exercises and will be introduced to a new routine called “Van Vuong,” set to the tune of the song “Gone with the Wind” (Để gió cuốn đi) by composer Trinh Cong Son.
In his opening remarks at the training course, Mr. Nguyen Van Vy, Party Committee member and Director of the Center for Culture, Information, and Sports in the district, emphasized, “Organizing a training course for elderly sports instructors is a practical activity. Through this training, we aim to enhance the knowledge and skills of the sports instructors in the Elderly Association from different communes and towns. They will serve as the backbone force for the physical training movement at the grassroots level, contributing to the expansion and improvement of the effectiveness of the physical fitness movement, and meeting the health training needs of the elderly in the district. This effort aligns with the effective implementation of the movement ‘The entire population trains their bodies following the example of Great Uncle Ho.’ Simultaneously, it encourages a large number of elderly individuals to participate in physical training, enhancing health for an extended lifespan. Furthermore, it vigorously promotes the movement of physical fitness training for the elderly.”
The training course is instrumental in enhancing the knowledge and skills of elderly sports instructors, positioning them as core figures in various communes and towns, further boosting the physical fitness movement at the grassroots level. This, in turn, meets the health training needs and contributes to ensuring joyful, healthy, and happy lives for the elderly, actively driving the development of physical fitness training movements in the local community.
