On the afternoon of November 4, at the Hanoimoi Newspaper headquarters, the organizing committee of the 11th Hanoimoi Open Table Tennis Tournament 2024 held a press conference.
The tournament is organized to celebrate major holidays of the year, providing a competitive platform for both professional and amateur players while promoting table tennis activities in the capital and other provinces nationwide.
The tournament has attracted 68 teams with nearly 400 professional and amateur players competing in 12 categories, with the number of teams participating in the men’s team amateur division increasing by dozens compared to the previous season.

“The participation of 68 teams and nearly 400 athletes competing in 12 categories, with a significant increase in amateur men’s teams compared to last year, demonstrates the tournament’s growing appeal. To enhance the tournament’s attractiveness, this year the organizing committee has increased the total prize value to 150 million VND, up more than 20% from last year,” said Nguyen Minh Duc, Editor-in-Chief of Hanoimoi Newspaper.
This year’s tournament features renowned players including Nguyen Duc Tuan (SEA Games 31 Champion, 2024 National Championship Runner-up), Nguyen Dang Hiep (2024 National Championship Bronze Medalist), Nguyen Duy Phong (2024 Southeast Asian Youth Men’s Singles Champion), Bui The Nghia (2024 National Championship Men’s Team Bronze Medalist), Vu Hoai Thanh (2024 National Championship Women’s Team Bronze Medalist), Dinh Anh Hoang, Le Dinh Duc, and Le Tien Dat (Vietnam National Table Tennis Team members).
Athletes compete in 12 categories including: Leaders’ Singles; Advanced Men’s Team; Amateur Men’s Team; Advanced Men’s Singles; Amateur Men’s Singles Over 45; Amateur Men’s Singles Under 45; Women’s Singles Over 45; Women’s Singles Under 45; Men’s Doubles with Leaders; Mixed Doubles Over 45 (all levels); Mixed Doubles Under 45 (all levels); and Women’s Doubles Over 45 (all levels).
At the conclusion, the organizing committee will present cups, flags, prize money, and medals to teams and individuals winning first, second, and third places in each category. The total prize pool is 150 million VND (over 20% increase from the previous tournament), a new feature aimed at increasing competitiveness and participation.
