Numerous Art Performances Have Taken Place to Celebrate the 70th Anniversary of Capital Liberation (October 10, 1954 – October 10, 2024)

The 70th Anniversary of the Capital’s Liberation is a significant milestone, not only for Hanoi but also for the entire nation. In commemoration, Hanoi and the country are hosting numerous lively activities. To enrich the cultural and spiritual life of the people, the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports has issued two plans for organizing..

The 70th Anniversary of the Capital’s Liberation is a significant milestone, not only for Hanoi but also for the entire nation. In commemoration, Hanoi and the country are hosting numerous lively activities. To enrich the cultural and spiritual life of the people, the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports has issued two plans for organizing these anniversary events: Plan No. 350/KH-SVHTT dated May 17, 2024, and Plan No. 143/KH-SVHTT dated August 21, 2024..

In line with these plans, the Department of Culture and Sports has assigned tasks to its offices and departments to organize artistic performances marking the 70th Anniversary of the Capital’s Liberation (October 10, 1954 – October 10, 2024). Specifically, from 7:00 PM on October 10, 2024, various city theaters – including Hanoi Drama Theater, Hanoi Chèo Theater, Hanoi Cải Lương Theater, Thăng Long Song and Dance Theater, and the Hanoi Circus and Variety Arts Theater – will each present an art program for audiences across the city’s districts and suburban areas. Highlighted locations include Hoan Kiem District, at the outdoor stage near the “Death for the Nation” Monument, Ba Kieu Temple area; and in the districts of Phu Xuyen, Bac Tu Liem, Chuong My, and the town of Son Tay.

Hanoi Cheo Theatre Performances Regularly at Ba Kieu Temple for the Public

Hanoi Cheo Theatre will commence performances from October 6, 2024, with three consecutive shows at Ba Kieu Temple during the following times: 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM, 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM, and 8:00 PM – 10:00 PM. The performances will feature select excerpts of traditional chèo opera, folk songs, ceremonial dance, and songs celebrating the Party, President Ho Chi Minh, and the homeland, as well as honoring Hanoi – the city of peace. The events will be performed by an ensemble of actors and musicians from Hanoi Cheo Theatre, including renowned artists like National Artists Thu Huyen, Thanh Loan; Meritorious Artists Le Tuan, Quoc Phong, Phuong May; and singers Meritorious Artist Thanh Tam, Duc Tho, Thanh Trung, Thuy Nga, among others. The October 6, 2024, performance program by Hanoi Chèo Theater is titled: “Hanoi – Sacred Land of Convergence”.
