Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism, Dang Huong Giang, stated that developing traditional craft village tourism products is a strength. In recent years, the city has directed efforts towards planning and developing famous crafts and villages, preserving and developing crafts and villages until 2030. This includes creating programs and initiatives that link craft development with tourism and implementing the One Commune One Product (OCOP) program. Additionally, policies encouraging craft village development have been established, and distinctive souvenir products representing each craft village and tourist destination in Hanoi are being developed to enhance the appeal of each location.
The director of the Department of Tourism Dang Huong Giang gave the opening speech of the Festival.
“The benefits of developing craft village tourism, transforming traditional craft products into souvenir gifts for tourists, not only contribute to the preservation and conservation of cultural values, creating added value for a tourist destination, extending the length of stay, encouraging spending, and increasing economic value but also effectively implement Resolution No. 09/NQ-TU dated February 22, 2022, regarding ‘developing cultural industries in the capital city during the 2021-2025 period, with a vision to 2045,’” emphasized Dang Huong Giang.
