During his lifetime, President Ho Chi Minh was not only the initiator of patriotic emulation movements, considering them as an important part of the Party’s leadership and State management, but he was also a role model in implementation of these movements. The “appeal for patriotic emulation” in particular and Ho Chi Minh’s thought in general on patriotic emulation has profound theoretical and practical values, has strong vitality, and makes an important contribution to the development of our country.
In all activities, leadership directions, decision-making, he paid special attention to the patriotic emulation movement and always reminded all levels and branches to attach importance to emulation work. From the teachings of President Ho Chi Minh, over the past 30 years, Hanoi people’s emulation movement “Good people and good deeds” has grown in quality and quantity. The exciting atmosphere of working emulation is widely spread in all political, economic, cultural and social activities of the Capital. Many activities promote patriotic tradition, spirit of mutual affection, unity and work together such as: “Đền ơn đáp nghĩa”, “Tuổi trẻ giữ nước”, Vì nước quên thân, vì dân phục vụ”, “Học tập và làm theo tấm gương đạo đức Hồ Chí Minh”, “Ngày vì người nghèo”, etc. has brought great effects, made an important contribution to the construction and defense of the Fatherland and national unity. Those practical and meaningful deeds have left deep impressions through many works, role models, songs, and works of art that live on forever, brightening up the patriotic tradition and heroic history of nation, contributing to preserving and cultivating the culture of elegant, civilized and modern Hanoi people.

With more than 150 precious images, documents, excerpts and artifacts, the exhibition “President Ho Chi Minh with the patriotic emulation movement” helps the public feel more deeply about the activities of the emulation movement which continues to be maintained and grown more and more diverse and plentiful. On the other hand, the exhibition also recalls the sentiment of the beloved President Ho Chi Minh to Hanoi Capital and the deep respect and gratitude of the Capital’s people to the Father of the nation.
