Duong Thuy Vi is the number one female athlete of Vietnam’s wushu team. She was specially admitted into the workforce of Hanoi Sports in 2014. For Duong Thuy Vi, 2024 has been a year of significant joy as she was honored to become a member of the Communist Party of Vietnam and achieved notable results in both her studies and competitions. In March 2024, Duong Thuy Vi officially received her master’s degree in education from Bac Ninh University of Physical Education and Sports. In September, she won a bronze medal in swordsmanship at the 2024 Asian Wushu Championships, and in October, she secured a silver medal in the taolu (performance) category at the 2024 Wushu World Cup held in Japan.

This year, Duong Thuy Vi is 31 years old; however, her passion for sports and her commitment to training and competing have never waned. She shared that she would continue training and competing until she reaches her limit, only then will she conclude her high-achievement sports journey. Currently, Duong Thuy Vi remains a key player of the Vietnamese wushu team. In 2025, wushu will be part of the official competition program at the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand, with taolu events included. This will be an opportunity for Duong Thuy Vi to continue shining and bringing glory to Vietnamese sports.
