With the theme “Expanding Forms of Collaboration and Cooperation among Provinces and Cities in the Vietnam-China Economic Corridor to Develop the Economy in New Circumstances,” the conference aims to continue to leverage the effectiveness and maintain good relations between localities, fostering substantive cooperation content that is highly feasible and aligns with the development requirements and potential advantages of all parties.

The 10th Economic Corridor Cooperation Conference among 5 Vietnamese and Chinese provinces and cities, namely Hanoi, Lao Cai, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh (Vietnam), and Yunnan (China), took place over 2 days (November 13-14) with a plenary session and three specialized discussion sessions on: Investment, trade; culture, health, education, tourism; transportation, logistics.

During the plenary session, delegates discussed and exchanged views on difficulties, and challenges, and proposed solutions to enhance the promotion and implementation of policies, cooperative activities, and mutually beneficial partnerships among localities within the economic corridor. The objective is to contribute significantly to the deepening of the comprehensive strategic cooperation partnership between Vietnam and China, seeking new, practical, and effective opportunities for cooperation.

On the afternoon of November 13, specialized discussion sessions were held, including the session on “Culture, Tourism, Health, Education” presented by the Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, Do Dinh Hong. This session focused on exchanging experiences, sharing information, and strengthening cooperation in the fields of culture, tourism, health, and education among localities within the economic corridor.

Delegates participated in the thematic discussion session.

Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, Do Dinh Hong, stated, “Clearly identifying culture as a core factor, a new driving force contributing significantly to sustainable development, attracting additional resources, creating a competitive advantage, promoting and making a significant contribution to GDP growth, and gradually positioning the national brand internationally, in recent years, Hanoi has issued various mechanisms and policies for the general development of culture and the cultural industry to meet the increasing demand for enjoyment domestically and internationally. In 2018, the cultural industry accounted for 3.7% of the city’s GRDP. In the overall picture of potential future cooperation between Vietnam and China, it can be affirmed that the potential for cultural exchange, tourism development, health, and education cooperation between Vietnam and China in general, and Vietnamese localities along the Vietnam-China economic corridor with Yunnan Province (China) in particular, is substantial. To exploit the potential of mutual cooperation commensurate with the available potential on both sides, it is extremely necessary to further enhance the promotion, deepen and make more effective the practical relationship between the provinces and cities along the economic corridor of both sides.”

The Director of the Department of Culture and Sports chaired the discussion session on culture, tourism, health, and education.

The Economic Corridor Cooperation Conference among 5 Vietnamese and Chinese provinces and cities provides an opportunity for these regions to strengthen exchanges, information sharing, and connectivity in transportation, cooperation in trade, investment, education, tourism, health, currency, and insurance operations. It also aims to strengthen friendship and mutual trust, thereby enhancing the flow of goods, developing economy and trade, and contributing to the socio-economic development of the localities.
