On the occasion of the 70th Anniversary of the War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day (27/7/1947 – 27/7/2017, in the afternoon of 10th July, Minister of Labour, War invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung chaired a press briefing to disseminate information to the press and media on the upcoming activities.
Thurifying in commemoration of the heroic martyrs at the Heroic Martyrs’s Monument
Concretely, the Party Central Committee, State President, the National Assembly, the government and Ha Noi People’s Committee would organize the thurifying ceremony to commemorate the heroic martyrs at the Heroic Martyrs’s Monument, pay tribute to President Ho Chi Minh and hold at national level the 70th Anniversary of the War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day at the National Convention Centre in the morning of 27th July 2017.
Earlier, on 26th July, at the Vietneamese-Soviet Friendship Palace of Culture and Labour, the Organizing Committee would organize a commending ceremony in favour of those who had been revolutionarily and selectively creditted in the entire country. There would be nearly 1,300 delegates participating in the conference, of which there would be 700 ones recognized as revolutionarily creditted people. The Prime Minister would confer cirtificates of commendment on 70 delegates and the Minister of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs would present to 630 worthy participants.
In the evening of the same day, it would be live televised simultaneoulsy on VTV1 channel at the 4 points in Ha Noi, Ho Chi Minh city, Quang Tri province and Thai Nguyen province, with the theme of “Viet Nam’s standing posture”.
Tribute-paying candle lighting ceremony
Besides, during that time, many other thurifying and candle lighting activities in paying tributes to the heroic martyrs at the cemeteries in the whole country would also by organized. Of which, there were 4 main sites namely Vi Xuyen, Tan Bien, Con Dao, Truong Son. The Standing Committee of the Fatherland Forefront of Viet Nam collaborated iwth the Ministry of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs to launch a campaign heading for the 70th Anniversary of the War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day. At the launching ceremony, there had been 55 units undertaking to devote to the Central Grateful Fund, with the total registered amount worth of 3.782.700,000 VND.
