According to Ms. Le Ngoc Chi, General Director of Vietnam Grand Prix Limited Liability Company, the organizer of the Formula 1 Hanoi Vietnam Grand Prix 2020 is closely monitoring all developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as the instructions given by the ministries on disease prevention to ensure the safety of racing teams and visitors and to promptly take measures concerning visitors from infected areas banned from entry into Vietnam.
The organizer of the Formula 1 Hanoi Vietnam Grand Prix 2020 is closely monitoring all developments of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In response to the concerns raised by international friends about the disease which is showing signs of fast spread, Vietnam Grand Prix Limited Liability Company affirmed that Vietnam was in full control of the situation and not a single COVID-19 case was recorded in Hanoi.
Ms. Chi said that if the disease situation showed positive changes in March, the number of visitors to Formula 1 Hanoi Vietnam Grand Prix 2020, scheduled to be held from April 3 to 5, may increase, especially those who were still hesitant due to fear of virus infection.
It is expected that the racetrack will be accepted by the FIA on April 2 and will open for visitors one day later. Ms. Le Ngoc Chi also noted that the support of the authorities in ensuring traffic in such events would be extremely important.
After the race in Vietnam, the Formula 1 Grand Prix will continue to take place in Shanghai, China. However, due to the complicated situation of the Covid-19 disease, it is likely that the Chinese Grand Prix Race will not be able to take place on April 19 as scheduled.

“In our opinion, the event in China will almost certainly be postponed to avoid further complicating the disease situation,” said Formula 1 Group CEO Chase Carey.
At the moment, the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA), the governing body of races, is also considering the possibility of postponing the race in China. The race is scheduled to take place at Shanghai International Circuit from April 19 to 21 and is the fourth leg of the Formula 1 2020 season.
